Or do we have to?
Does the end justify the means?
To convince people of the truth, shall you insult them?
Will you?
As an apologete myself, I make sure that when I engage people of other faiths in the discussion about the fallacy of their beliefs and the beauty of the Faith I profess, I make sure to remember what I learned as a debater in college. TO NEVER COMMIT ANY LOGICAL FALLACIES, one of which is to result in name calling.
It saddens me to read and learn of how one apologete, a PRIEST, at that, results in NAME CALLING and CURSING just to get his point across. And he does not even know proper Net-iquette.
And it is even sadder to know, that this priest has even fallen into the same criticism of the Traditional Mass, as if he took it out of the books of Fr. Anscar Chupungco!
The last thing you would want to see is a priest cursing a fallen away Catholic or Christian. Aren't priest taken from the people of God, "Shepherds after the Lord's Heart?" I know that Christ publicly condemned the Pharisees because they were obstinate. But for Christ's sake, it was in a blog! I can imagine how he dispenses the graces in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Does he bad mouth his penitents before he absolves them? As far as I could remember, Christ would say "Your sins are forgiven. Go and sin no more."
Never read in the Gospel, curses and name calling in ALL CAPS!
It was said before that in ancient Sparta, the man who wins his case is the one who shouts the loudest, not the one who presents and defends a logical case.
Dear Father, tell me if cursing, bad-mouthing, and hot heads ever work in converting people, of bringing them back to the One Fold of Christ?
I learned in history that St. Paul and St. Francis Xavier did not employ such tactics.
Hitler did, and look at his results.

Was Mass facing the people envisoned by Vatican 2?
How interesting to see that even after Vatican II, the mind of the authorities implementing the changes regarding the orientation of the celebrant (whether facing the eastern wall of the church or facing the people) NEVER RECOMMENDED THAT THE WHOLE MASS BE CELEBRATED FACING THE PEOPLE.

Pope Benedict's Papal Mitre?
Do you remember Pope Benedict's Coat of Arms?
Here it is.
The silver mitre with the triple gold bands replaced the traditional Papal tiara and as an addition, the pallium with the red crosses, deviating from the traditional black crosses.
Now, Mr. Dieter Philippi, of the Philippi Collection made a mitre looking like the one in the papal crest.
You can visit the rest of the Mr. Philippi's clerical headgear collection by visiting his blog.
Your thoughts on this one?
You think Papa Benny will wear one?
I still want him to look like the photo below.

More updates about the SP Instruction
Go on over to Father Z's wonderful blog to read more positive details about the highly anticipated Instruction about Summorum Pontificum.
He gives a more detailed report.
The expected date for the release of the Instruction will be this coming Easter Sunday.
Hmm...will that old man rant again after Easter Sunday?
You know who.

The Church Fathers DID NOT endorse Communion in the Hand
And Frs. Anscar and Genaro says otherwise!
Or so they say...
Read the interesting and revealing blog post of former Episcopalian priest and now Catholic dad, apologete and professor, Taylor Marshall of Canterbury Tales and see the historical evidence that the early Church Fathers DID NOT endorse Communion in the Hand as some creativist liturgist want you to believe in.
It is nothing but a new innovation that has brought NOTHING but bad things to the Church and how Her sons and daughters believe in the Real and Persisting Presence of Christ our Lord in the Host.
Here's a hint...
If the early Church Fathers DID endorse Communion in the Hand, why has it long been gone both in the Eastern and Western Churches and only made its very controversial return only after Vatican II?
Think about it!
BAN COMMUNION IN THE HAND, NOW!!!

Interesting articles and comments about Summorum Pontificum
The great Father Z, Rorate Caeli and the New Liturgical Movement have interesting articles about an interview with Msgr. Guido Pozzo, the Secretary of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei, on the occasion of three years of Summorum Pontificum, the motu propio issued by the current Holy Father, libelarizing the use of the 1962 Missal.

PS: I am a bit dumped today with tons of work. And I have my hands full with the heretical writings of Filipino theologians WHO ARE STILL teaching at theology schools in Manila!
Time permitting and God willing, I will bring these out to light.
Don't get me wrong. I am no theologian but I am someone who knows his Catechism and Bible
So, I will comment based on these.
Vivat Jesus!

Wonderful New Blog
This is the screen shot of the new wonderful blog that I am following, The Filipino Roman.
It was started by a loyal reader of our blog, Novus Catholicus Romanus.
Here is his opening paragraph of his first post:
***
The last sentence made my day!
I think I will leave to him the discussion about the Reproductive Bill, eh?
It was started by a loyal reader of our blog, Novus Catholicus Romanus.
Here is his opening paragraph of his first post:
Nowadays, people get so embroiled with the Church's insistence on the immorality of artificial birth control. People with personal moral issues to grind against the Church and with a deep anticlerical animosity against her would unabashedly label her teaching as 'stone-age', formulated 'aeons-ago', irrational, uncompassionate, and deeply illogical. Even worse in the theological academe, and among a number of priests, nuns, and seminarians who would immediately label themselves as 'enlightened', Vatican II 'updated', and 'relevant', people get so emotionally reactional against the teaching, and are ashamed and (sometimes) even outwardly hostile to the Church's teaching on contraception. Notable theologians, among them Jesuits here in the Philippines, would declare that contraception is better left off to the consciences of individuals.

Beautiful and informative blog about religious statues
I chanced upon this very informative blog about religious statues. In an age where beautifully made and dressed statues are making a comeback in the Philippines, this site is very helpful for the laity who would want to give as a gift to their parish a beautiful statue or for a priest who would want o build a beautiful shrine for their patron saints or even a statue fit for a "La Naval-type" of a procession.

Just sharing...
Before you launch a tirade...
He is (un)Rev. Richard McBrien, of the (un)Theology Department of Notre (Shame) Dame University.
Get it? Those named Richard have a nickname of...Dick, ain't it?
He is a leading dissenter and heretic in America who continues to be a priest of good standing.
I still wonder why he still is!
So don't be a heretic and a dissenter.
SO...the caption.
I did not make this! Fr. Erik Richtsteig of Orthometer posted this. Excellent blog!
Named Orthometer because "a device for determining Orthodoxy...Exorcizing the Hermeneutic of Rupture since 1994.
