The Cathedral Basilica of Manila OPENS

The opening ceremony of the newly-renovated Cathedral Basilica of Manila will be on April 9, 2014, which is conveniently a holiday, at 2pm.

I am going to see both the newly restored Mother of all Churches in the metropolis, and to find out what kind of ambiance the so called BETTER Cathedral would use for the opening ceremonies.

Am tempted to bring popcorn like what I always do when I watch tear-jerker movies.

Better Manila Cathedral?

Professor Ferdinand Bautista gives us a glimpse of the brighter and bolder Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.

According to an ABS-CBN online article, the renovated Cathedral is brighter and has 4 ambiance options.

They have turned the seat of the See of Manila into a theater!

And seeing the flat screen televisions in the picture above makes me cringe!

I think I know what will happen next: palayok censers, liturgical dancing, and more performances for the enjoyment of the faithful.

Manila Cathedral Basilica Restoration

A sneak preview of the restoration project the Manila Cathedral has undergone.  The Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception will have a soft opening this Sunday, December 8, 2013.
