Meanwhile, somewhere in Molo, Iloilo

Not even the gnarly little fingers of Geny can influence the priests here to take away the crucifix at the center of the altar!

Bring back the crucifix at the center of the altar, not on the side, but at the center and on the altar!

This is the Benedictine Altar arrangement.  Benedictine meaning from the liturgical influence of Pope emeritus Benedict XVI and not the Benedictine monk who started the liturgical nonsense in the country.

TPC Kudos to the parish priest of St. Anne Parish in Iloilo!  You make your church befitting as a house of worship!  God bless you Father!!!

Kudos too to the TPC reader who sent this via Facebook.

  1. Isn't it a duplication if, like in our parish church, there is a life-size crucifix in the center retablo and we place another crucifix on the altar?

    1. There is no duplication as the altar crucifix faces the priest and not the people. It keeps the priest from a self centered Liturgy.

The priest could also celebrate Ad Orientem as what Vatican II really envisioned

  2. I don't know if the presence of the opus dei has contributed to this proper respect for the liturgy but when I visited Iloilo for a convention I had the opportunity to see their beautiful churches and how "influential" opus dei is.

the late fr chupungco and fr diwa are obviously allergic to the reform of the reform especially in the liturgy but are there if any filipino liturgists who are tolerant if not friendly to a more traditional liturgy?-Seph

  3. He was our parish priest in a other parish in Iloilo City. He is a heroic priest. He even conducts cathechism classes for adult Catholics to make them better understand their Faith. He works hard to ensure a
Catholic culture is kept alive in the face of rampant secularism. I await the day he offers a vetus ordo Mass also.

  4. Hmm... A concrete projection of a Theocentric worship.
