Bring back the crucifix at the center of the altar, not on the side, but at the center and on the altar!
This is the Benedictine Altar arrangement. Benedictine meaning from the liturgical influence of Pope emeritus Benedict XVI and not the Benedictine monk who started the liturgical nonsense in the country.

Isn't it a duplication if, like in our parish church, there is a life-size crucifix in the center retablo and we place another crucifix on the altar?
ReplyDeleteThere is no duplication as the altar crucifix faces the priest and not the people. It keeps the priest from a self centered Liturgy.

I don't know if the presence of the opus dei has contributed to this proper respect for the liturgy but when I visited Iloilo for a convention I had the opportunity to see their beautiful churches and how "influential" opus dei is.
