Spot the Not: Eucharistic Exposition

I am a lover and devotee of Eucharistic Exposition, Adoration and Processions like those for Corpus Christi and Christ the King.

This some photo has some liturgical No-Nos committed though and I hope you can learn something from this.

Aside from the bowl of incenses burning on the altar, what else is not right with this?

By the way, the monstrance has a modern design.  I am not much of a fan of modern vessels designs but this one is simple yet likeable.

A priest who yesterday ‘outed’ himself as a married man said he wanted to highlight the need to change celibacy laws and the hypocrisy of the Catholic Church with regard to the treatment of sex offenders.  [He admitted to living with a woman, who I am pretty sure is not married according to the laws of the Church, while still remaining in his active priestly ministry, came out to admit his sinful and scandalous relationship because he wants to "highlight" the need for the Church to stop Her "hypocrisy.  Ain't he the clean one, eh?]

Speaking with Neil Mitchell, Father Kevin Lee from the Padre Pio Parish in Glenmore Park, Sydney said he had already been excommunicated from the Church.  [Wow!  That was fast!  But.....I didn't know that being a priest and getting married will get you automatic excommunication.  If he wants to, well, he can do it himself, but his act did not and will not merit an excommunication.  Wait!  Is this drumming up the media drama so the anti-Catholic MSM will go to the rescue of the bullied little priest who just wants to tell the whole world how he loves his little wife and how the big bad bully called the Vatican is getting in their "happily-ever-after" life?]

”I think it was basically expected that they'd be shocked, but I didn't expect to be turfed out as quickly as I was,” Father Lee told Neil Mitchell. 

”I think they try to put a very bad spin on it that I'm the bad person because I've breached their trust in terms of being married secretly."  [It's not bad?!]

Father Lee said he had received support from fellow priests who were themselves in relationships, but didn’t have the courage to ‘out’ themselves.

Father Lee said he had worked as a chaplain for fifteen with the New South Wales police and was appalled by the ‘stonewalling’ committed by the Catholic Church during investigations into sex offences committed by priests.  [Did he go to the police?]

"When a priest has committed some serious sex offence, he's more likely to be re-accommodated somewhere else where he's not known and given back his ministry and his faculties.”  [Dan Brown!  Some material here!]

Father Lee said his to-be wife was unaware he was a priest when they first met, and their friendship blossomed to love.  [*belch*]

"You don't choose to fall in love. You meet somebody and the relationship blossoms, and it became a situation where I felt I should solemnise this union to make it official,” he said.

Father Lee said he was fearful that his Filipino wife would be ostracised within her strongly Catholic community for marrying a priest.

What this priest is basically saying is this:

I can't follow the rules, so let us just change the rule!

And it happens all the time.

In the Liturgy, a Do-as-You-Please-Mass, dancing, clapping, creativities, no vestments...

In the Teachings of the Church, Catholics co-habitating, contracepting, actively homosexual sex life, philandering, stealing from government coffers,  so-called Catholic businessmen who don't pay their workers their just wages....

It goes on and on.

Once you make up your own rules, you become your own Master and Lord.

No wonder that is the reason why the first Commandment IS the First Commandment.

That is what IDOLATRY means folks!

Just call me one of your biggest fans. Your blog makes me more convinced of my conviction in transitioning from a VATICAN II freak to a Traditionalist. [Aha!  Secret SSPX!  Hahahaha!!!]  Its not that I am against VAT2 but what I am against is the loose interpretation of it. I have to admit that I was a former fan of that sad old man in Malaybalay, but when I attended one of his masses, I have lost faith in him.  [Swswswswswshhhhh?]

By the way... If ever you will pass by La Union, I suggest you go to Mary Consolatix Monastery along Naguilian Road. Its around 45 mins away from Baguio if you will ride the mini bus going to San Fernando (or if you have a private car, its faster). They are a community of indigenous traditionalist nuns (although their oratory looks very Novus Ordo). Msgr. Cosalan of Baguio says the TLM for them every month (there's a lack of priests who can celebrate the TLM in La Union, it is infested by SVDs). [infested!  what a strong word.  LOL!] If you are able to talk with an extern sister there, ask them to pray over you (Yeah I know it sounds Charismatic but that is how they bestow blessings on people) [oooookey?] or just ask her to include you in their prayers.  [Praying before the Blessed Sacrament is more than enough.  Actually, IT IS MORE THAN ENOUGH.  Not that I hate the hands of the sisters, no.  But, laying on of hands is for priests and bishops alone, sorry.]

Continue what you are doing Sir Knight, you are not just only inspiring people, you change them.

"Sister" Mary John Mananzan, OSB, probably the most liberal Filipino nun to date.

She has expressed her opinion to allow contraception, for as long as it has no abortifacient effect. So, obviously, she is for condoms and tubal ligation and vasectomy.

She is also a supporter of the liberal group Call to Action.

She is also the founder of RH Bill promoter and anti-Church lobby group, feminist Gabriela.

My advise to these kinds of nuns:

LEAVE THE CHURCH!

Join the Episcopal or Anglican Churches where they ordain women and active homosexuals, where they teach your heresies!

Your kind must change! Not the Church changing her dogma for your like!

Here is a very insightful comment from Rorate Caeli's Carlos Antonio Palad about my post about the Cebuano priest who changed the Salubong rituals in his parish by taking out the image of the Virgin Mary and exchanging it with Mary Magdalene. And the image covered with a black cloth and needed unveiling was that of the Resurrected Christ and not Mary Magdalene. Hmm...so much for the mourning veil, eh?

That the Resurrected Christ appeared FIRST to the Blessed Virgin Mary is strongly affirmed by St. Ignatius of Loyola in his Spiritual Exercises (in the brief section entitled "OF THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST OUR LORD OF HIS FIRST APPARITION").

In 1997, Pope John Paul II explicitly declared that it is permissible to believe that the Risen Christ appeared first to His Mother, and that there are strong grounds for believing that He indeed first appeared to her:

Unfortunately, Carlos, priests like Fr. Lao read more of what Hans Kung and his ilk write than those of the writings of St. Ignatius, the Church Fathers and even the Pope.

Solemn High Mass in the presence of the Diocesan Bishop

I received these wonderful updates on my Facebook account about the Solemn High Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Mark Sese on the occasion of his second sacerdotal ordination last May 1, Feast of St. Joseph the Worker, at the High Altar of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral of Pasig.

Rev. Fr. Elijah Lim, OFMConv. and Rev. Fr. Jojo Zerrudo served as deacon and sub-deacon of the Mass.

As you can see in the photos below, Most. Rev. Mylo Hubert Vergara, DD, is seated on his cathedra.

I heard that the Mass was well attended.

Congratulations to the TLM Pasig Group for organizing the Solemn High Mass.

We hope to see more TLM celebrated in the High Altar of the Cathedral.

Maybe a Solemn Pontifical Mass soon?  :)
