As we approach the beginning and end of the week, Sunday, let me direct you to the wonderful 36-page Pastoral Letter of the Archbishop-Emeritus of Manila, Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales, D.D entitled Without Sunday We Cannot Live: A Pastoral Letter on the Sunday Celebration of the Eucharist issued in 2009.
Unfortunately, there is no online copy of that Pastoral Letter. It should be here, but the link is broken. We can find traces of it at the Arkham website, at the Monk's Hobbit and from this very blog.
In this Pastoral Letter, Cardinal Rosales decreed on page 17, #28 that:
We therefore wish to continue the practice of reserving this ministry (altar servers. sic) to young boys, in order to introduce them to the life and ministry of the Church.
Now, explain THIS.
Taken from a parish in the heart of Manila itself.
It's funny, but the female altar servers (sic) try so much to look like males with their bundled up hairs. So why get them in the first place?
Why disobey your bishop in the first, first place?
