My first post for 2012

Let this be your Christian "mantra" throughout the year.

Share...print it...frame it!

This is the actual photograph of the page page of her own breviary, where St. Teresa of Avila, one of my patrons, (aka Sr. Teresa de Jesus OCD) wrote her famous poem Nada Te Turbe.

Let this be our prayer for 2012.

And not from some feng shui and astrology hacks!

God bless us all!

Here are the words in Spanish:

Nada te turbe;
nada te espante;
todo se pasa;
Dios no se muda,
la paciencia
todo lo alcanza.
Quien a Dios tiene,
nada le falta.
Solo Dios basta.

And here is the English translation. NO 1970s ICEL involved. Ha!

May nothing disturb you.
May nothing astonish you.
Everything passes.
God does not go away.
Patience
can attain anything.
He who has God within,
does not lack anything.
God is enough!

Please say this prayer, and an Ave and a Memorare, for me, as I am going through a very tough decision this coming weeks and months. Also include my wife and kids in your prayers as they will be greatly affected by my decision.

It's about my job. Now you know why this is my first post.

God bless us all!

  1. Teresa of Avila died as an O.Carm. and not an OCD yet she is the foundress of the OCD. The split between the OCarm (the original Carmelites) and the OCD (the reformed branch) came about after her death and was brought by Nicholas Doria who succeded Jerome Gracian as the provincial of the reform.
