"Credo, ergo ego sum!" A Filipino Catholic's frank commentary on anything that affects his life as a citizen of the Philippines and as a Roman Catholic.
are there any reasons why some priests don't want their altar servers using black cassocks?
Two theories:1. they hate anything too traditional2. they simply don't know and act like they do know things.
some will even say, "mas mukha pa silang pari." (they will look like priests).well, with all due respect to these priests:THEN BETTER LOOK LIKE ONE, TOO!
And I just want to add on...with that reason of saying na "mas mukha pa silang pari." (they will look like priests).it is a form of narcissism to those priests who hates the proper vestments of the acolytes.
Interesting...If theory number 1 is true, why shouldn't they love too traditional. Ang ganda nga ng too traditional eh or even just right traditional.About theory 2, hindi ba tinuturo iyan sa seminaries? The proper way to dress up the clergy, the altar boys and all persons who have a role in serving and or offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass?
