If a "priest" approaches us to have the tombs of our loved ones blessed....
I'll drag him by the neck and bring him to the police.
That means you Mark Bunag!
If he is indeed an RC priest, I'll send him to his bishop!
That's for sure!
Lots of fake priests going around these days looking to swindle someone!
Ugh!
Not only fake Catholic clergy, but fake Orthodox clergy as well. Many of them roaming around claiming to be Catholic or Orthodox, or both. There are only 2 canonical Orthodox jurisdictions present here in the Philippines: the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and the Patriarchate of Antioch.
ReplyDeleteHere in our parish, the blessing of a grave (responso) "costs" P100.00 and the blessing was done personally by the parish priest and the other two vicars. Is this liturgically and canonically permitted/proper? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteFranciscus, that is called simony! Tell your parish priest about what he did!
