Here is the infamous Missionary of Jesus Fr. Percy Bacani, who conducted an "Avatar Mass", yup I had to wash my hands with hand sanitizer just for typing those two words, now leading what seems to be a Mass, considering that there is an altar, covered with a plain white cloth that can be used later as chasuble, one teenie weeny candle on it, and he is wearing a white overlay stole over his secular clothing, which, uhm, obviously are all liturgical abuses identified by Redemptionis Sacramentum.
It is a concelebrated Mass!!!! Look at the man in pink shirt with a white overlay stole!
And they are singing "Making Melodies"?!?!?!?!?!
What is going on here?!?!
Will they go to heaven???

More Liturgical abuses. BTW, have you written about the most abused act here in the Philippines--the orans posture being done by the laity during the Lord's Prayer at Mass? Or, even worse, holding hands at that point?

ReplyDeleteWell, that is good, but I wonder why nothing has been done about it. It had been one of my pet peeves, people acting as if the priest during the Lord's Prayer by doing exactly the same posture he does.
