I think this goes out to the likes of Nero, Adolf Hitler, Dan Brown, Celdran, et al...

Needless to say, everything is hereunder said and noted, is not for agnostics who acknowledge no God, neither for eclectics who simply choose what they want to believe as their own private and personal choice - nor is this short and elementary composition intended for people who subscribe to any sect here and there that come and go, or any system of beliefs that blatantly defies all logic and reason. In other words, this whole plain and simple matter about certain particulars about the Catholic Church are the concerns the faithfully practicing Catholics, of the occasional Catholics and even of but the nominal Catholics.
At the very start, let it be said that it is only the Catholic Church that is found existing and operative in all the known Continents of the word. There are wherefore baptized Catholics among peoples of all races and colors. Furthermore, the Catholic Church is the only worldwide Institution that is some 2000 years old and counting. There is not a single entity in the whole universe that is as one and universal, that has remained that global and vibrant as the Catholic Church. Yes, they are other old creeds - but there are neither one and universal,
The fact is that the central site of the Catholic Church is officially known, called and acknowledge by the civilized word as the "Vatican City State" that has formal diplomatic relations with most Countries, that sends to and receives Ambassadors from said Countries. It is also a standing fact that in Countries that have Apostolic Nuncios, these are automatically recognized as the Head of the Diplomatic Corps of the Nations concerned.
Above premises considered, it would be but right and proper, good and practical, to herein point out the following three basic truths - during these peculiar times when there is said to be an on-going battle between the politicos with their followers and the Church specifically about contraceptives of all kinds and makes - courtesy of the Multinational Pharmaceuticals with their business persuasions and abundant lobby resources plus their organized support groups of one kind or another:
One: In the past, there were Priests, Bishops and even Popes who tried to destroy and erase the Catholic Church from the face of the earth - not to mention secular potentates of all kinds that attempted to do the same. [Let us not forget that one of the first apostles which Christ Himself chose, betrayed Him to His death! Even the first pope went chicken when subjected under pressure.] Yet, the Church is still here. Two: In this period of Phil. History, there are a number of politicians and citizens who harbor hatred for the Church [Ah...Masons? Rabid Harlots?]-- and if possible, want her out of their way. But as sure as the sun will shine tomorrow, the Church will be then up and about. Three, finally, it is good to remember an ominous reality, viz., those Catholics of whatever political affiliation and ideological persuasion, will be usually brought to the cemetery by the Church. Lesson: Fighting is the Catholic Church is inutile!

In other words...BRING IT ON!
To all Catholics, be proud of your faith! Wear your cross or scapular!
Some points to add and for clarification:
ReplyDeleteFACT 1: The Roman Catholic Church never was anti-science. She will always champion scientific research as long as this respects human dignity.
The Roman Church gave birth to Modern Science. Without her and her universities and the fact that she allowed wide latitude in scientific research during the Medieval period, shows how indebted secularists and all of us to the Roman Church.
The so called Catholic "persecution" of scientists like Galileo happened right after the Reformation. Protestants were even more willing to burn scientists without a trial more than the Catholic Church. That's why Lutherans like Johannes Kepler had to seek Catholic patrons.
The present Pope Benedict XVI after considering the scientific studies on genetically modified food concluded that it was OK to eat GMOs since we have to answer the problem of chronic hunger. The secular environmentalists (who defend a religion without the logical thoroughness of the Catholic Church) were livid.
If pro lifers have to defend the faith, they should not discredit science!
FACT 2: The Vatican is only the territory on which the Holy See resides. Ambassadors are accredited to the Holy See and not the Vatican. The Holy See is the one who sends nuncios and not the Vatican.
FACT 3: The Nuncio is only dean of the diplomatic corps in countries with a Catholic history, even if these countries are now majority Protestant, like Switzerland. In the secular USA, the dean of the diplomatic corps is the most senior ambassador according to date of posting. He/she may or may not be the Apostolic Nuncio
@Ben:
ReplyDeleteI agree. Whenever I battle it out with the pro-RH people. I both use moral arguments based on our Faith and "secular" arguments based on the science, economics, statistics...etc. Arguments based on legal grounds are also useful.
For our battle, it is useful to use all the "truths" that we could get even that "truth" was discovered and confirmed using Science. The truth came from God and it could come from various sources.
