If you think the Philippines does not have it's share of a reverend showman, well think again. Here it is. Play your own game of find the liturgical abuses game.
Take note: This is not a Born-Again Revivalist-cum-Rapture Worship Service masking as a Roman Catholic Mass. It's the other way around.
The priest in the video is Fr. Archie Guiriba, OFM. I have heard a LOT about this priest. And in the Year of the Priest, I'd rather keep it to myself, just pray for him and his superior.
As the video will show to you, that whatever they are doing does not even resemble a Catholic Mass.
This is embarrassing. I wouldn't even show this video to children. This may distort their understanding of the holy sacrifice of the mass.
ReplyDeleteWhy wouldn't show this video to children? I beg to disagree with you, but it's worth watching. What's wrong in singing praises to the Lord? As long as your heart is genuine in showing your adoration to God, for me there's nothing wrong with it. Instead of judging other people the way they worship God, teach our children (the next generation, the future leaders) to resist violence and corruption, be a good citizen of this nation and to love God and His people.
DeleteExamine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith. -2 Cor. 13:5
Thy children will be exposed to Liturgical Abuses if they watch this video. Be guided!
Delete...I also attended one of his masses and prayer rallies....Its very disgusting and I don't even finish the Gloria during the Mass. I don't consider their mass as the real Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and I walked out of Quezon Memorial Circle out of disappointment. It looked like a concert tour of Justin Bieber or Spongecola..I went instead to St. Peter Parish to attend mass.....I hope that all this madness in our sacred liturgy to have an end....
ReplyDeleteDoes God really care how you worship him? Is it always according church laws? Man’s rules? What’s most important is the right attitude of your heart towards God. We can praise Him through dancing, singing, or any other things that can show or express your love to Him. It’s not about religion but what really matters is your personal relationship with God.
DeleteYeah, it looked like a concert. Mass is a holy sacrifice, not an entertainment! You should understand that. You can praise Him using dancing or 'any other things' but please, outside the mass, because it is a holy sacrifice. "Man's Rules"? Then, you're truly a protestant. I think you should read the authority of the pope at Matthew 16:18. If it's not about religion, how will you know God? If it's not about religion, then why did Jesus build His church? To entertain His people? No! Jesus build His church to be our guidance/way to Him. And religion is important. Lol at you. You should know what you are saying, "Amaezing". God Bless! :)

ReplyDeleteleanvillanueva, baka ikaw ang magulat sa pinagsusulat mo. Cardinals, Theologians and Historians attest to the fact that Communion in the Hand is an innovation and was never practiced in the East and in the West the way historical revisionists would want you to believe.
ReplyDeleteRead books and researches not coming from San Beda and Paul VI in Bukidnon.
Ever read the encylical Mediator Dei? Baka magulat ka.
And I understand where you are coming from, being a Catholic Charismatic and all.
ReplyDeleteAsk yourself if early Christians worshipped the way Fr. Guiriba worships.
Ask yourself if what Fr. Guiriba is doing is in obedience to how the Universal Church worships in PUBLIC.
This is not Catholic Mass... This is "Born Against" prayer rally.... This is horrific, monstrous and hilarious.
ReplyDeleteWhich is more horrific? Expressing your love to God or being so judgmental? God does not want His people judging one another. Instead, He calls for everyone to have compassion and forgive one another.
DeleteMatthew 7:1-5
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
