Well placed sources in the Holy See have informed me that Venerable Paul VI will probably be beatified on October 19, after the Synod of Bishops.
Take this with a grain of salt. Only Pope Francis can set the date but this is the date going around the rumor mills in the Vatican.
So is the Holy See in a rush to place in the altars the so-called Vatican II popes?
How about this pope?
No, can do? Why? We need the radical Jews and history-revisionists to give their assent before he gets beatified?
Since when did people of other faiths have a say in who we beatify, huh?
It would be great if they'd be beatified together, just like Pius IX and John XXIII in 2000. In their lifetimes, I seemed that, Ven. Pius XII and Ven. Paul VI had a very close father and son relationship over and above their collaboration in the Roman Curia. It would also suit the media image of "conservative and liberal together." I do hope Pope Francis will make this courageous move and "make a mess" (Pope Francis in Rio, 2013). Ven. Pius XII and Ven. Paul VI, pray for us!
