GULP Alert: And the Pedro Calungsod fever goes on!

In a negative way, that is!

Never knew that the camisa de chino is a liturgical garb, or a dress reserved for liturgical worship of the Church.

Just because the new saint wore one doesn't mean you can use it for the Mass.

Fad. Period.

An after thought....what if the Philippines gets an Igorot or Negrito saint?  Would our acolytes wear these?

Oh darn it.......they already did, in Adamson University during the PCP2 Concluding Mass presided over by Cardinal Rosales...

INCULTURATION BABY YEAH!!!

  1. Speaking of the acolyte's vestments why won't they try those camisa de chino to seminarians who are also serving the Mass? hehehe if they really want to insist the word "incluturation" to the Philippine Roman Catholic churches. Tagnan natin kung anung mangyayari... hehehe

    1. Well, why can't we see the priests wearing it themselves, or the G-String to keep on with the inculturation brouhaha, hehehe

  3. Why is it in Cebu they are following the Liturgical norms?...
Like during the national thanks giving mass of St. Pedro Calungsod the servers and seminarians wears the proper garb albs, cassock and surplice. To those who loves g-sting and barongs Is it hard to follow the norm???
IN CEBU YOU NEVER SEE THEM WEARING A CAMISA DE CHINO AND BARONGS JUST BECAUSE WE HAD A FILIPINO SAINT ONCE AGAIN...
    HA!
Unity in diversity as a teaching in Vatican II never allows us to abuse liturgy just because you emphasize inculturation. If you want to emphasize inculturation tell those acolytes in the Vatican to wear vestments like roman soldiers or roman toga perhaps or even dress of the slaves hahaah

For you Dean saan sa theology na dapat ang servers gumamit ng Camisa de Chino habang naglilinkod sa altar ng Diyos. Baka lumilipad ang isip mo habang nag lelecture ang prof mo hahaha

    1. Mister, i dont think you have to ascertain the theological background whatever of somebody who brings up these kinds of abuses. ARE YOU TELLING US NA LAY PEOPLE CAN NEVER UNDERSTAND CHURCH DOCUMENTS?
