And liberals say Pope Francis is too kind, a man of peace, will change Catholicism...
Eat your heart out liberals!
***
An Australian priest who supports the ordination of women has been excommunicated by Pope Francis.
In the first such excommunication since the new pontiff took office Fr Greg Reynolds was dismissed in a letter from the Archbishop of Melbourne Denis Hart, which stated that “the decision by Pope Francis to dismiss Fr Reynolds from the clerical state and to declare his automatic excommunication has been made because of his public teaching on the ordination of women contrary to the teaching of the Church and his public celebration of the Eucharist when he did not hold faculties to act publicly as a priest.” [Including his public celebration of the Mass even though he does not hold the faculties! Remember that cosplayers!]
Archbishop Hart also told other priests in the archdiocese by letter that Fr Reynolds’s excommunication was “because of his public teaching on the ordination of women”, which are grounds for automatic excommunication.
Fr Reynolds is also a supporter of same-sex marriage and has attended rallies in favour of changing the definition of marriage. He has even reportedly presided at same-sex ceremonies.
He told National Catholic Reporter: “I am very surprised that this order has come under his watch; it seems so inconsistent with everything else he has said and done.” [Nyahahahaha!!! You think he changed everything! Nyahahaha!!!!]
In August 2011 Fr Reynolds resigned his position as a priest at two rural parishes and, after Archbishop Hart removed his priestly faculties, he founded Inclusive Catholics, a pro-female ordination and gay marriage group.
Australian media also reported that in August 2012 he was present at a Mass where a dog had received Communion, which Fr Reynolds said he was not aware of until after the incident.
That month Archbishop Hart wrote to him warning that if he continued to act publicly as a priest he would “be forced to take further canonical action for the good of the Church”.

Anyone have the guts to declare their support for the ordination of women? For homosexual "marriage"
Step right up folks!
When do we see the folks at Ateneo de Manila and Ateneo de Davao get the same disciplinary sanctions eh?

Carlos Celdran and his non sequitur...as expected!
Another classic KSP move by the Queen of all Closet Queens...
She wants us to believe, She, meaning Celdran...that the priest was so cruel not to allow another urn to be placed in an already full niche and that the old woman is considering leaving the Faith.
The only thing you should believe in this drag is that he is a drag.
Would you allow another person to sit on your chair when you are already sitting on it?
Would you allow another urn to be placed in a niche that is full to capacity?
And then she, meaning Celdran, wants you to believe that this woman who is a devotee would suddenly be shaken because the priest did not allow what she wants?
Was it really what the widow felt or was it a case of transference for this Queen of all KSP, huh?
And they call her "cultural activist".
I'd call her "poster queen for plain attention whoring and dim-wittedness."
Which leads me to this...
Why not excommunicate him? She wanted it in the first place, no?
But first...
Teeeheeeeeeeeee!!!!

Cardinal Tagle gets new Curial appointment
I see....
From the Inquirer
***
Two months after his elevation to the College of Cardinals, [WOW! Darling of the media! Ahem ahem....] Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle has been appointed to two key councils in the Vatican. [See how the lead was written. Drums it up to look like old poster boy is really that good an administrator. As you will read later on, it is expected for new cardinals to become members of Dicasteries. Normal. Expected. Get over the hype.]
Pope Benedict XVI on Thursday named Tagle a member of the Pontifical Council for the Family, which deals with pro-life issues, and the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant Peoples.
The five other prelates who became cardinal in November together with Tagle were also given new assignments in the Vatican curia.
“According to the Catholic News Agency, [the cardinals, while keeping their main jobs, can] bring their experience and perspective to bear on the discussions and decisions of the central church offices that assist the Pontiff,” a report posted on the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines news website said.
“As member of the two Rome-based offices, Tagle may attend the councils’ important meetings and receive regular correspondence from Rome on matters that need consensus,” the report said.
According to the Vatican website, the Pontifical Council for the Family is responsible for the promotion of the pastoral ministry and apostolate for the family, dealing with issues related to responsible procreation, and the defense of human life “in all stages of its existence, from conception to natural death.”
The council also deals with sex education, demographics, contraception and abortion; sterilization, ethical and pastoral problems related to AIDS and other problems of bioethics; legislation regarding marriage, the family, family policies and the protection of human life,” the report said.
The appointment is significant, tending to show that the Vatican is strengthening Tagle and through him, the Catholic Church in the Philippines in its fight to stop the government from enforcing the reproductive health (RH) law that the Universal Church views as an attack on life and the family.
Signed by President Aquino on Dec. 31, the law provides for free family planning services and artificial contraceptives to Filipinos and requires sex education in schools. [hmmm...]
Allies of the Church have challenged the constitutionality of the new law in the Supreme Court.
Arguments in the court will try to resolve whether the new law is a government and legislative action against the Church and religious belief.
Pending in Congress is a bill that would allow divorce in the Philippines, the only country in the world besides the Vatican that still respects the biblical injunction against divorce. [So? Does that make the Philippines a "weirdo" country? If the whole world legislates marriage between two homosexuals, that does not change the fact that these homosexuals, no matter how inflamed they are with their "love" for one another, cannot in their wildest dreams pro-create another human being from their own genes. NEVER!]
The Philippines is also one of only five countries in the world where the HIV/AIDS epidemic is increasing. One Church source said Tagle had personally ministered to people living with HIV/AIDS.
Tagle’s appointment to the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant Peoples is also significant since the Philippines is a major exporter of labor, with 10 percent of the country’s more than 90 million population working abroad.
According to the Vatican website, the council was given the task of studying and providing pastoral care to “people on the move” such as migrants, exiles, refugees, displaced people, fishermen and sailors, air travelers, road transport workers, nomads, pilgrims, or circus people.
Government officials have said that Filipino sailors man up to 30 percent of the world’s merchant marine fleet.
Besides Tagle, the other cardinals who were given positions in the Vatican include: [See that!!!!]
US Cardinal James Harvey, archpriest of Rome’s Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, membership in the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and on the Administration of the Patrimony of the Holy See, which oversees Vatican property and investments.
Lebanese Cardinal Bechara Rai, head of the Maronite Catholic Church, membership in the Congregation for Eastern Churches, the Supreme Court of the Apostolic Signature, the Pontifical Council for Migrants and Travelers and the Pontifical Council for Social Communications.
Indian Cardinal Baselio Cleemis Thottunkal, head of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, membership in the Congregation for Eastern Churches and the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue.
Nigerian Cardinal John Olorunfemi Onaiyekan of Abuja, membership in the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the presiding committee of the Pontifical Council for the Family.
Colombian Cardinal Ruben Salazar Gomez of Bogota, membership in the Pontifical Commission for Latin America and the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace.
According to Tagle’s secretary, Fr. Reginald Malicdem, [the all powerful...nowhere near the character of a former secretary to the cardinal. No, seriously.] the cardinal is also a member of two other Vatican bodies: The Congregation for Catholic Education and the permanent council of the Synod of Bishops.

Maybe since he is now appointed to that dicastery, will we see another concert probably in Rome this time while the pro-lifers are rallying against the RH Law from outside the Supreme Court?
Nah.
Hope something concrete from Cardinal Tagle soon.
Nah.
Hope something concrete from Cardinal Tagle soon.
And where is that stereotypical Vatican II response of "dialogue" with the pro-lifers and RH lawmakers that Cardinal Tagle suggested, huh?
Typical Jesuit rhetoric? he learned a lot from them, huh?
Like I said before...MORE TALK, LESS ACTION.
PS: Hope this appointment would leave....ehem...somewhere else?
The president of the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant Peoples, Cardinal Antonio Maria Vegliò has just reached retirement yesterday. Cardinal Tagle is the newest member of that Council.

Despicably cheap!
Catholics for RH is a brain-draining term.
You can't be Catholic and be for artificial contraception. Some may say that the Christians sin but it does not make them "not Christian".
True! But you cannot promote the immorality and the sin in public!
RH is against the moral doctrine of the Catholic Church!
Will this same group of people promote prostitution, child labor, drug addiction, gay marriage, if ever these things are discussed in Congress?
That is the same logic they are using.
You can't be someone who professes to be a member of an organization and yet you do your own smorgasboard of what that organization is supposed to be!
If you are an employee who just chooses which company policy you'd follow and disobey the ones you don't like, well expect the pink slip anytime soon.
But for these Catholics, who are obviously being well fed by the RH financial machinery, 30 pieces of silver won't hurt at all.
Probably, they want the whole world before they lose their soul in return.

Visit this the Catholic Position on the RH Bill to read the CBCP Statement against this group that calls itself "catholic"
Visit Dr. Quirino Sugon's blog to read his commentary about these wolves in "sheep's clothing".
So cheap to even call for prayer for the passage of an EVIL BILL!

Not excommunicated anymore?
PHOENIX (CNS) -- A Mercy sister who was automatically excommunicated because of her role on the ethics committee that allowed an abortion to be performed at a Catholic hospital in Phoenix in 2009 is back in good standing in the Catholic Church.
In May 2010, officials at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center publicly acknowledged that an abortion had occurred at the hospital in late 2009. Officials said the woman was 11 weeks pregnant and suffered from pulmonary hypertension, a condition that the hospital said carried a near-certain risk of death for the mother if the pregnancy continued. [In effect, the "Catholic" hospital chose the life of the mother over the unborn child. But who are we to choose who is to live and who is to die? That my friends is the kind of Catholic morality this hospital has.]
It also was revealed at the time that Mercy Sister Margaret McBride had incurred automatic excommunication because of her role on the ethics committee that sanctioned the abortion. On Dec. 21, 2010, Phoenix Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted announced that the hospital could no longer identify itself as a Catholic hospital.
In a Dec. 8 statement, the hospital said Sister Margaret has since "met the requirements for reinstatement with the church and she is no longer excommunicated. She continues to be a member in good standing with the Sisters of Mercy and is a valued member of the St. Joseph's executive team." [Why was there no statement from the bishop? Hmmm...]
The statement, emailed to Catholic News Service in response to a query about her status, provided no more details and the hospital had no further comment. [Fishy...]
Sister Margaret is currently the medical center's vice president for organizational outreach.
Last year when Bishop Olmsted issued his decree revoking the 116-year-old hospital's affiliation with the Catholic Church, he wrote that he could not verify that the hospital provides health care consistent with "authentic Catholic moral teaching." [Can this be applied to schools as well? I think so. Bishop Nes Ongtioco, how about MST and Ateneo?]
After he learned about the abortion, Bishop Olmsted said at the time, he had met with hospital officials to learn more about the particular case.
"It became clear that, in their decision to abort, the equal dignity of mother and her baby were not both upheld," he said. The baby "was directly killed," which is a violation of the ethical and religious directives. [Killing an unborn human is simply inhuman.]
Throughout the process, St. Joseph's Hospital and its parent organization, San Francisco-based Catholic Healthcare West, maintained that the intention was to save "the only life that could be saved," the mother's, according to the hospital. [tell it to the marines!]
"We continue to stand by the decision, which was made in collaboration with the patient, her family, her caregivers and our ethics committee," she added. "Morally, ethically and legally we simply cannot stand by and let someone die whose life we might be able to save." [You save a life by killing another? Hope St. Gianna talks to this family.]
Bishop Olmsted said it was his duty to strip St. Joseph's Hospital of its Catholic identity because its leadership, as well as that of its parent organization, San Francisco-based Catholic Healthcare West, is not committed to "following the teachings of the Catholic Church."
"I really want to have Catholic health care," he said. "We should be working together, not against each other."
To demonstrate that the hospital was no longer Catholic, Bishop Olmsted prohibited the celebration of Mass on the hospital's campus and had the Blessed Sacrament removed from the hospital's chapel.

I heard a hospital run by a Protestant church here in Manila is the haven for celebrities wanting to have an abortion. Hmmm...
Not the Roman Catholic Bishop's turf but expect the CBCP to speak against this once it gets out.
Thank God we still have someone like Bishop Olmsted doing what a bishop ought to do.
See...The most effective bishops are most of the time NOT on TV.
Can't help myself with that one.
