He calls this Operation Visita Iglesia for RH Bill.
And this is how he describes his crusade.
NO, my dear boy, Artifical Contraception is a BIG NO NO for Catholics.
Deal with it. It is non-negotiable. Read the Catechism. It is not the CBCP's word, it is the command of God' Church.
If you can't stand this teaching, then shut up and get out!
And even if you said it was not your intention to smear the Church, well, you are actually doing it!
PS: Next time, try doing that inside that church where you took that shot. And make sure that we, the Knights of Columbus, are on duty. We will talk. Promise.

Holy See Reminds UN of Parents' Right to Teach Sexuality
Says Families Cannot Shirk Responsibilities
NEW YORK, JULY 28, 2011 (Zenit.org).- U.N. policies on youth should respect parents' right to educate their children, including in the realm of human sexuality and "reproductive health," says the Holy See. [The governments of the world including here in the Philippines give you the notion that parents are in no position to educate their children about these matters, well, because parents don't have the "degree". Ring a bell to you? No wonder snitches these days earn a killing!]
Archbishop Francis Chullikatt, the permanent observer of the Holy See at the United Nations, affirmed this today when he addressed the U.N. high-level meeting on youth. [The Holy See is not a member of the UN but rather a permanent observer.]
"Each and every young person should be able to be brought up in an environment in which he or she is able to grow and learn, that is, in a community and society characterized by peace and harmony, free from all violence and discord. Each and every child, for the full and harmonious development of his or her personality, should grow up in a family environment, in an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding," the archbishop affirmed. [In a family environment... I am sure the Archbishop meant here a NATURAL family.]
The Holy See representative said that such an environment "will promote good and responsible citizenship that is essential to the common good of humanity." [Having a wife and a pet dog as your "child" does not count as a family. Get that Humpty Dumpty?]
Moral responsibility and respect for others are learned in a family, Archbishop Chullikatt continued. [And what that blob of fat did at the Cathedral show how his or her parents brought that thing up!]
"The family has an important role to play in educating children to develop all their faculties and in training them to acquire ethical and spiritual values and to be deeply attached to peace, liberty and the dignity and equality of all men and women," [Charity begins at home folks!] he stated. "The family, founded on the marriage between one man and one woman, is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and must be guaranteed protection by society and the state." [BINGO!]
The 58-year-old prelate reminded the United Nations that "parents -- mother and father together -- have the primary responsibility for the upbringing and development of their children to help them become virtuous citizens and leaders." [Why even government would want to meddle with this?]
"Parents cannot withdraw from this essential role," he said. [Essential and PRIMARY ROLE!]
And states, the prelate added, "are called, in conformity with international instruments, to respect the responsibilities, rights and duties of parents in this regard."
"Youth policies, programs, action plans and commitments approved by member states must respect fully the role of parents regarding their children's wellbeing and their education," the Holy See representative said, "including in the area of human sexuality and so-called 'sexual and reproductive health,' [which] should not include abortion."

Commemorating Humanae Vitae

Dear Family and Life Warriors,
In the 60’s, due to the sexual revolution, problems of overpopulation and economics had arisen, making it needful for Paul Paul VI to address the issues of birth control. Pope Paul VI took a stand on July 25, 1968 in an encyclical known as Humanae Vitae (Of Human Life).
[This year, we will be celebrating the 43rd anniversary of Humanae Vitae (HV) with various activities in the Catholic Church, beginning tomorrow July 19, (Schedules as outlined further below this page,
after the highlights of HV)]
Highlights of HV are as follows:
1) "Marriage and conjugal love are by their nature ordained toward the begetting and educating of children. Children are really the supreme gift of marriage and contribute very substantially to the welfare of their parents."
2) “Married love is a very special form of personal friendship in which husband and wife generously share everything, without undue reservations or selfish calculations. Whoever truly loves his marriage
partner loves not only for what he receives, but for the partner's self, rejoicing that he can enrich his partner with the gift of himself."
3) “… one is not the master of the sources of life but rather the minister of the design established by the Creator. Just as man does not have unlimited dominion over his body in general, so also, and
with more particular reason, he has no such dominion over his specifically sexual faculties, for these are concerned by their very nature with the generation of life, of which God is the source.”
4) It is held that the sexual act must "retain its intrinsic relationship to the procreation of human life", and the "direct interruption of the generative process already begun" is unlawful. Abortion, even for therapeutic reasons, is absolutely forbidden, as is sterilization, even if temporary. Similarly, every action specifically intended to prevent procreation is forbidden. All these are held to directly contradict the moral order.
5) Therapeutic means which induce infertility are allowed, if they are not specifically intended to induce infertility. Natural Family Planning are allowed, since they take advantage of "a faculty provided by nature."
6) The dangers of artificial methods of contraception are outlined: by allowing sex without consequences, moral standards would fall.
Our Mother Church will celebrate HV's 43rd year, with the following activities:
A. July 19, simultaneous CBCP Humane Vitae Forums at the Adamson University Gym and USTChapel. 2PM;
B. July 25:
1) 7AM Mass by Bp Tobias, at the St Peter's Church in Commonwealth Ave, QC. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed after until 5PM;
2) 9AM Mass by Bp Pabillo, in Santuario de San Jose, Greenhills to be followed by a Soul of the State of the Nation Address at the Club Filipino.
LET THIS BE A WEEK OF PRAYER AND FASTING FOR THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF OUR LEGISLATORS AGAINST THE ANTI-LIFE BILLS (RH AND DIVORCE).
May God, the Author of life, bless all our efforts. And may Mary, Queen of the Family and Mediatrix of All Grace, protect all human life.

Clerk quits job than compromise her beliefs!

A rural New York town clerk has resigned her post rather than grant marriage licenses to same-sex couples. [the aftermath of the same sex cohabitation being confused with the natural and sacred marriage.]
“I would be compromising my moral conscience by participating in licensing same-sex couples,” Laura Fotusky, the clerk of the Town of Barker, told POLITICO. “I had to choose between my job and my god.” [I am sure she meant it with a big G.]
Fotusky, a 56-year-old twice-elected Republican in the town of about 2,700 people about 10 miles north of Binghamton, posted her resignation letter to the Web site of New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms, a group that describes itself as “dedicated to influencing legislation and legislators for the Lord Jesus Christ.” [So it was really not a small "g".]
Fotusky, whose resignation is effective July 21, three days before legal gay marriage takes effect in New York, said she has no plans after she leaves her office, which paid $24,205 last year. [She is sacrificing a lot for her beliefs.]
“I don’t know what’s going to happen next,” she said. “I just knew that I needed to obey God.”
Fotusky follows in the footsteps of Barbara MacEwen, the town clerk in Volney, N.Y., who said last month she was determined not to grant any gay marriage licenses. MacEwen ultimately relented and said she would arrange for deputy clerks to sign the documents.
Fotusky quoted the Bible in her resignation letter, writing, “The Bible clearly teaches that God created marriage between male and female as a divine gift that preserves families and cultures. “Since I love and follow Him, I cannot put my signature on something that is against God.”

Such laws force a person to obey a law which is immoral and unnatural. What would rights advocates have to say then that a person is forced to obey something against his will in order to give someone his perceived 'right and privilege'. Don't get me wrong. I am for the equal rights of ALL people, no matter their sexual orientation. But for you to tell me that homosexuals enjoy the same sexual and parental rights as those of the traditional and (whether you like it or not) natural family and a married couple, then hey, you'd be sure I would not be silenced about this.
THIS IS NON NEGOTIABLE!
HOMOSEXUAL COUPLES CO-HABITATING CAN NEVER EVER BE CALLED A MARRIED COUPLE NOR ADOPTING OR HAVING A CHILD THROUGH A SURROGATE WILL NEVER MAKE THAT COUPLE WITH A CHILD A FAMILY!
UN-NATURAL, IMMORAL, NON NEGOTIABLE!
And I am pretty sure there will be brave souls here in the country who would do the same if the RH Bill becomes a law.

Church continues fight against Bills of Death and Immorality
MANILA, Philippines - Catholic bishops are ramping up activities to oppose the passage of a controversial birth control measure a full week before President Aquino's State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Msgr. Juanito Figura, Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines secretary general, said the Catholic Church is preparing several activities to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of the Humanae Vitae, the landmark encyclical by Pope Paul VI that deals with the Church’s uncompromising stand on birth control.
Since the date of the anniversary -- July 25 -- falls on the SONA, the celebration will be held in advance. [ain't that a happy coincidence?]
“We’ll be doing activities a week before that just to stay away from the SONA,” said Figura.
Aside from Humanae Vitae, the Church is also marking the 20th anniversary of Familiaris Consortio (The Role of Christian family), an apostolic exhortation written by Pope John Paul II. The document describes the church’s position concerning the meaning and role of marriage and the family, and outlines challenges towards realizing that ideal. [and they hate that also.]
The apostolic exhortation also defines marriage "as a personal union in which the spouses reciprocally give and receive." [Oooo... homosexuals fighting for 'marriage' can misquote this. Beware!]
The document restates the opposition to artificial birth control stated earlier in Humanae Vitae, and mentions opposition to abortion.
During the bishops’ plenary assembly last week, Pope Benedict XVI urged them to continue protect the sanctity of life and marriage.
CBCP President and Tandag Bishop Nereo Odchimar earlier said that they will continue to speak out against the Reproductive Health bill as this is their duty to the people.
“We are the last bastion standing against the RH bill, divorce and now there is also the possibility of same-sex marriage and we won’t be surprised if after that would come euthanasia,” he said.

Consequently, it is a serious error to think that a whole married life of otherwise normal relations can justify sexual intercourse which is deliberately contraceptive and so intrinsically wrong.

PCSO denies tagging "pajero bishops"
The PCSO officials were grilled big time by the senators for who coming up with the term Pajero Bishops when there were no Pajeros given? And why is the present PCSO giving donations to other denominations as well but they are not being investigated?
And to top it all off, the Commission on Audit did not mention anything about Pajeros?

ON Sunday, June 26, several Catholic churches in the Philippines will hold a second collection during Masses for Mindanao relief efforts. [I am sure that after learning of this effort, other dioceses and prelatures will soon follow suit.]
At least four pastoral jurisdictions are set to hold a second collection including the Archdiocese of Jaro, Dioceses of Surigao, Marbel, and the Prelature of Basilan. [Uhm...Manila? Do I see your hand? Ah, yes. Pondo ng Pinoy!]
Archbishop Angel Lagdameo of Jaro said he will write a circular letter for a second collection to help Mindanao.
Likewise, Bishop Martin Jumoad of Basilan said he will ask his parish priests to make a second collection for the people of Cotabato.
Bishop Dinualdo Gutierrez of Marbel said holding a second collection is already their usual practice in Mindanao whenever a diocese experiences calamity. [The Diocese of Marbel is a suffragan of the Cotabato Archdiocese.]

The anti-Catholic Catholics

Anti-Catholicism is arguably the oldest bias in the history of the American people. [And the oldest here in the country if you count the Freemasons, and the youngest if you count the Freedumbers aka Freethinkers.] Or so Arthur M. Schlesinger Sr. — who had no dog in the fight — once told the dean of U.S. Catholic historians, Fr. John Tracy Ellis. Over the centuries, however, anti-Catholicism in America has taken on several forms.
In its classic New England iteration, anti-Catholicism was shaped by Protestant and, later, Enlightenment-rationalist assumptions. Both were neatly summarized in a letter from John Adams to his wife, Abigail, written during the First Continental Congress after Mr. Adams had undertaken an anthropological expedition through the streets of Philadelphia:
Adams, it should be noted, contributed handsomely to the building of a Catholic church in Boston in the years after the Revolution; the passionate support for the cause of American independence displayed by such Federalist leaders as Charles Carroll of Carrolton had, evidently, caused the Sage of Quincy to reconsider. MANILA, June 14, 2011―The Knights of Columbus is holding a symposium on the reproductive health bill aimed to counteract widespread misinformation that prevents citizens to make sound judgments on the issue.
"We are led to believe that the country is overpopulated when it is not. We are led to believe that contraceptives are safe and moral, which they are not. We are led to believe that maternal deaths are caused by non-access to contraception when in fact all we need to do is to improve basic medical services," said Rommel Lopez, council lecturer and recently elected Deputy Grand Knight of his council of the Knights of Columbus in Kalookan diocese. Lopez believes that the division which this piece of legislation is causing among Filipinos―and even among some Catholics―is due to misinformation, hence resulting in varied positions regarding the bill.
"When we heard about the ongoing debates in media about the RH and how the issue drives a wedge among conservative and liberal or so-called ‘cafeteria Catholics,’ the Knights of Columbus decided it was high time that we informed the public―especially the ordinary Mass-going Catholics―of what the RH Bill meant for all of us," he explained. [this is the Knights advocacy, the protection of the family and life. This is the reason the Order of the Knights of Columbus was founded.]
"And so we thought of organizing an event where we could invite speakers who can talk authoritatively about what the RH bill is for Filipinos and for Catholics. We hope that by holding this symposium, we can educate our parishioners about the bill and the medical, social, moral and spiritual dangers it poses to a Filipino Catholic," Lopez said [That is why we need to attend folks! I wonder if they have security to prevent the FreeDumbers from coming.]
Dubbed "Stand up for Life!" the symposium brings together experts on the RH bill and related issues to tackle the various aspects involved: House Representatives Roilo Golez (Parañaque) and Mitos Magsaysay (Zambales), and Dr. Lissa Poblete and Dr. Gabby Dy Liacco both of Filipinos for Life.
The symposium on House Bill 4244 or The Responsible Parenthood, Reproductive Health and Population and Development Act of 2011, is slated on June 18, from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at St. Mary’s Academy in Grace Park, Caloocan City.
"All of us Filipinos want the best for our country," Lopez said. "Unfortunately, some of the worst things that happened to the world happened with man having the best of intentions. [But] if people are informed of what the RH bill is and what it really wants to accomplish, then people would definitely come out and let their voices be heard that they do not want a bill that is redundant and does not respect their faith and the freedom to choose."

A friend who is a missionary in Hong Kong went to the mainland to visit some of his friends. During one of his visits to a farming village, some members of the Communist Party went to distribute relief goods. Maybe they just came from a natural calamity. He was surprised to hear what some of the folks said after they received their goods "Send our thanks to Chairman Mao. He is such a good man!"
Good heavens! Its been year since that mad man died! And people in China are still left out of the dark and they are led to believe that the lunatic is still alive and in control of the country!

Updates on Sta. Quiteria Conference
Remember that post about a seeming pro-RH parish?
Well, I just heard from very reliable sources that it was a case of miscommunication. Apparently the organizers were 'too slow' to invite the pro-lifers to the occasion. But they made it. The pro-lifer speakers trounced the pro-RH Hontiveros and Claudio. The whole crowd was pro-life!
And so, the parish deserves credit for being pro-life.
I am still wondering though why they have to give the pro-RH the venue to spill their filth.
Well, it turned out well after all. They made fools out of Hontiveros and Claudio, people who are freethinkers, informed and empowered.
Ha!

Dear Brothers and Sisters!
In this Mass at which it is my joy to preside, concelebrating with numerous brothers in the Episcopate and with a great number of priests, I give thanks to the Lord for all the beloved families gathered here, and for all the others who are linked with us through radio and television. I offer particular thanks to Cardinal Josip Bozanić, Archbishop of Zagreb, for his kind words at the beginning of this Mass. I address my greetings to all and express my great affection with an embrace of peace!
We have recently celebrated the Ascension of the Lord and we prepare ourselves to receive the great gift of the Holy Spirit. In the first reading, we saw how the apostolic community was united in prayer in the Upper Room with Mary, the mother of Jesus (cf. Acts 1:12-14). This is a picture of the Church with deep roots in the paschal event: indeed, the Upper Room is the place where Jesus instituted the Eucharist and the priesthood during the Last Supper, and where, having risen from the dead, he poured out the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles on the evening of Easter Sunday (cf. Jn 20:19-23). The Lord directed his disciples “not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father” (Acts 1:4); he asked that they might remain together to prepare themselves to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. And they gathered together in prayer with Mary in the Upper Room, waiting for the promised event (cf. Acts 1:14). Remaining together was the condition given by Jesus for them to experience the coming of the Paraclete, and prolonged prayer served to maintain them in harmony with one another. We find here a formidable lesson for every Christian community. Sometimes it is thought that missionary efficacy depends primarily upon careful planning and its intelligent implementation by means of specific action. Certainly, the Lord asks for our cooperation, but his initiative has to come first, before any response from us: his Spirit is the true protagonist of the Church, to be invoked and welcomed.
In the Gospel, we heard the first part of the so-called “high-priestly prayer” of Jesus (cf. Jn 17:1-11a) – at the conclusion of his farewell discourses – full of trust, sweetness and love. It is called “the high-priestly prayer” because in it Jesus is presented as a priest interceding for his people as he prepares to leave this world. The passage is dominated by the double theme of the hour and the glory. It deals with the hour of death (cf. Jn 2:4; 7:30; 8:20), the hour in which the Christ must pass from this world to the Father (13:1). But at the same time it is also the hour of his glorification which is accomplished by means of the Cross, called by John the Evangelist “exaltation”, namely the raising up, the elevation to glory: the hour of the death of Jesus, the hour of supreme love, is the hour of his highest glory. For the Church too, for every Christian, the highest glory is the Cross, which means living in charity, in total gift to God and to others.
Dear brothers and sisters! I very willingly accepted the invitation given to me by the Bishops of Croatia to visit this country on the occasion of the first National Gathering of Croatian Catholic Families. I express my sincere appreciation for this attention and commitment to the family, not only because today this basic human reality, in your nation as elsewhere, has to face difficulties and threats, and thus has special need of evangelization and support, but also because Christian families are a decisive resource for education in the faith, for the up-building of the Church as a communion and for her missionary presence in the most diverse situations in life. I know the generosity and the dedication with which you, dear Pastors, serve the Lord and the Church. Your daily labour for the faith formation of future generations, as well as for marriage preparation and for the accompaniment of families, is the fundamental path for regenerating the Church anew and for giving life to the social fabric of the nation. May you remain dedicated to this important pastoral commitment!
Everyone knows that the Christian family is a special sign of the presence and love of Christ and that it is called to give a specific and irreplaceable contribution to evangelization. [Everyone knows including the secularists who want nothing from the Church. That is why you have gay marriage, contraception, abortion, divorce floating in the Philippine air!] Blessed John Paul II, who visited this noble country three times, said that “the Christian family is called upon to take part actively and responsibly in the mission of the Church in a way that is original and specific, by placing itself, in what it is and what it does as an ‘intimate community of life and love’, at the service of the Church and of society” (Familiaris consortio, 50). The Christian family has always been the first way of transmitting the faith and still today retains great possibilities for evangelization in many areas. [Charity begins at home, right?]

Dear parents, commit yourselves always to teach your children to pray, and pray with them; draw them close to the Sacraments, especially to the Eucharist, as we celebrate the 600th anniversary of the Eucharistic miracle of Ludbreg; and introduce them to the life of the Church; in the intimacy of the home do not be afraid to read the sacred Scriptures, illuminating family life with the light of faith and praising God as Father. Be like a little Upper Room, like that of Mary and the disciples, in which to live unity, communion and prayer! [For more about the Eucharistic Miracle of Ludbreg click here and here. By the grace of God, many Christian families today are acquiring an ever deeper awareness of their missionary vocation, and are devoting themselves seriously to bearing witness to Christ the Lord. Blessed John Paul II once said: “An authentic family, founded on marriage, is in itself ‘good news’ for the world.” And he added: “In our time the families that collaborate actively in evangelization are ever more numerous [...] the hour of the family has arrived in the Church, which is also the hour of the missionary family” (Angelus, 21 October 2001). In today’s society the presence of exemplary Christian families is more necessary and urgent than ever. Unfortunately, we are forced to acknowledge the spread of a secularization which leads to the exclusion of God from life and the increasing disintegration of the family, especially in Europe. Freedom without commitment to the truth is made into an absolute, [like what freethinkers espouse.] and individual well-being through the consumption of material goods and transient experiences is cultivated as an ideal, [materialism and the trivialization of sex by media through contraceptives, premarital sex lifestyle and gay marriage.] obscuring the quality of interpersonal relations and deeper human values; love is reduced to sentimental emotion and to the gratification of instinctive impulses, without a commitment to build lasting bonds of reciprocal belonging and without openness to life. We are called to oppose such a mentality! Alongside what the Church says, the testimony and commitment of the Christian family – your concrete testimony – is very important, especially when you affirm the inviolability of human life from conception until natural death, the singular and irreplaceable value of the family founded upon matrimony and the need for legislation which supports families in the task of giving birth to children and educating them. [It still baffles me how the RH Bill which prevents pregnancies, encourages sex among the unmarried youth, kills the unborn day old ovum, could be pro-family? I just don't get it.] Dear families, be courageous! Do not give in to that secularized mentality which proposes living together as a preparation, or even a substitute for marriage! Show by the witness of your lives that it is possible, like Christ, to love without reserve, and do not be afraid to make a commitment to another person! Dear families, rejoice in fatherhood and motherhood! Openness to life is a sign of openness to the future, confidence in the future, just as respect for the natural moral law frees people, rather than demeaning them! The good of the family is also the good of the Church. I would like to repeat something I have said in the past: “the edification of each individual Christian family fits into the context of the larger family of the Church which supports it and carries it with her ... And the Church is reciprocally built up by the family, a ‘small domestic church’” (Address of His Holiness Benedict XVI to the Participants in the Ecclesial Diocesan Convention of Rome, 6 June 2005). Continued pill use can cause blood clot

The Food and Drug Administration released a warning on May 31 that certain classes of oral contraceptives for women may cause serious and potentially fatal blood clots.
In an online alert issued Tuesday, the agency cited new studies in the “British Medical Journal,” which found that women taking these pills have two-to-three-times higher risk of serious clots.
Popular birth control pills such as Yaz, Yazmin, [these two are sold here in the Philippines!] Beyaz, Gianvi, Ocella and several other brand names are included in the warning since they contain a hormone called drospirenone.
The FDA said it will now look “at all currently available information to fully assess the risks and benefits of drospirenone-containing birth control pills.” [Is our own FDA doin' the same thing? Nah. The bald one won't let them.]
Although all contraceptives pose the risk of blood clots, pills containing drospirenone were introduced about a decade ago in the hopes that they would decrease the risk.
But on June 2 CBS News highlighted the story of Joan Cummins, whose 18-year-old daughter Michelle died of a massive blood clot in her lung in 2010, shortly after she left home for college in North Carolina. [I saw this on the news.]
Cummins believes that the oral contraceptive Yaz might have caused Michelle to collapse and go into cardiac arrest while walking to class last August.
“They called me from the hospital and they told me that her heart was not responding and that it wasn't good. And that just – you never want to hear that,” Cummins told CBS.
She's now suing the drug company Bayer for her daughter's death.
“I'm saying it could've contributed to her death,” Cummins said. “A healthy young 18-year-old woman who never had anything wrong to be taken like that, certainly something that could've contributed.”
The Catholic Church teaches that contraception is immoral because it purposely denies the gift of life and does not involve the total gift of self that should take place between a husband and wife. [But Jesuit lawyer Joaquin Bernas wrote that he believed this but...but...]

I read a similar story about a young woman falling dead on her tracks. She was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival. It was learned that she died from a blood clot that blocked her major artery causing a massive heart attack. The young woman is a pill user. Here is her story.
Now, when is the pill going to take effect on Angsioco?
I mean, for her to have a change of heart.

"I am Catholic but..."

HOW CAN one say he is a Catholic and ignore the teachings of his religion? Why be a Catholic if one thinks his religion is erroneous? Is there pride and truth in being an egoistic Catholic? Are such Catholics who fill up the church and who participate in the same rituals, say the same prayers, and profess the same beliefs in both God and the Church’s commandments sincere or hypocritical? [And this goes to those Jesuits, Vincentians, PIME, CICMs, MJs, ahhhh....all those dissidents who want another brand of Catholicism and not just for Lagman and Garin.]
Pro-RH lawmakers insist they are Catholics but in the same breath disagree with the Catholic hierarchy’s rejection of the RH bill. This constitutes contradiction of the first degree.
Oneness in doctrine is one of the conditions defining Catholicism. [Remember the four marks of the Church? The first is oneness.] The second is holiness of origin, and the third is apostolic succession. Holiness means that the Church is holy because it has been established by Jesus Christ who is Himself holy and that it is guided by the Holy Spirit in the proclamation of the truth and the administration of sacraments. Apostolic means that the Church traces its authenticity and heritage to the apostles who were instructed by Jesus Christ to evangelize the world headed by the apostle Peter: “Thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. To thee I will give the keys to the kingdom of Heaven and whatsoever thou shall bind on earth shall also be bound in Heaven. And whatever thou shall loose on earth shall also be loosed in Heaven.” [Do you get the feeling that those who really know their Catechism are the very same people who are faithful to the teachings of the Church and are therefore pro-life and anti-RH?]
From this awesome passage in the Holy Scripture declaring the wisdom, love and trust of God, the Church grew and prospered organizationally and doctrinally under the guidance of the Holy Spirit beginning right after Pentecost. [Oh, Manalo is furious!]
The Catholic Church is firm in its stand that the killing of the unborn is intrinsically evil, a morality issue. And that the right to life and its preservation are guaranteed by the Constitution and that Catholics are free to practice their religious beliefs. [Which constitutionalist Jesuit Bernas is trying to blur.] If enacted into law the RH bill will be coercive [booya!] for Catholics because they will be legislated to act against their faith and their will.
In the legislature, we have politicians who push for the enactment of the RH bill while proudly proclaiming that they are Catholics. [bah-hum-bug!] They become evasive and rhetorical in confronting the Catholic objection to the bill’s birth control objectives which prescribe abortion-inducing abortifacients, [which these local lawmakers and even medical professionals and health officials continue to dodge!] contraceptives and invasive means such as ligation and sterilization.
The occurrence in contemporary times of Catholics who do not share the official teachings of the Church’s magisterium is widespread in the United States, the melting pot of rights and freedom for individual thinking and judgment.
Catholics who choose what or what not to believe in the composite teachings of the Church are popularly called “cafeteria Catholics.” [I call them lost sheeps or dissidents.] Just like in a turo-turo restaurant, they choose to eat only what they like and skip those that don’t appeal to their taste. [Hey hear that Jun Mercado, Joe de Mesa and Agnes Brazal! Stop the pretense. We know what you say and teach in private! And Luis also.]
Relativism, the “ism” that spawned cafeteria Catholics, was influenced by several philosophical, economic and scientific developments that took place during the last two centuries. In Central Europe, these developments caused the shift of societies’ dependence on the Christian religion as a way of life. The change was labeled as a shift from belief to unbelief. The late Russian Nobel prize-novelist Alexander Solzhenitsyn called it anthropocentricity, with makes man the center of everything that exists. [Isn't this how the Novus Ordo Mass look like. And a little dash of inculturation and what do you have? Almost like Magellan discovered. Nature worship! Booya, EUNTES!] One religious philosopher even redefined God as a “progressive providence,” almost modifying the axiom that truth is permanent and unchangeable. [Call the devil for what it is. It is MODERNISM long condemned by St. Pius X.]
The last century featured decades of more scientific breakthroughs in medicine, food production, engineering, transportation and communication technologies. The advances in marketing and distribution gave birth to globalization of business and consumer habits, further upgrading lifestyles and multiple-choice consumerism in a pluralistic society. [The word that will make Bernas say "ooooo!" "Aaaaa!"] The politics of democracy began to manifest its righteousness in the name of freedom, emphasizing human rights as the end-all and be-all in entertaining all possible human needs in pursuit of individualistic pleasures and conveniences, dimming and deadening Christian morality in human awareness and consequent acts. [Like what Sr. Mary John Mananzan is doing, right? She founded Gabriela.]
Relativism has long encroached on the modern urban societies of the Western World, causing changes in both the political, social and religious tradition of politics and culture of the country. [And Europe is losing the native white Europeans and even more!]
Cafeteria Catholics exemplify this change from belief to unbelief in this age of modernism, affecting not only the legislation of our politics but also the behavior of our constituency. [Bingo!}
To preserve the integrity of their faith, Catholics must re-study and re-learn their religion in order to gain depth in and perspective on their faith. [You don' get taught in Catechism class like the old days. Now they teach you social justice from priests and nuns who live and spend their money as if.....uh, never mind.] They must discern not only the role of faith and reason in enhancing their adherence to the Gospel but also the doctrinal beauty and power of their catechism.

The logic of Cafeteria Catholics and so called Free Thinkers is this:
I am a logical being. I am born free (like the song.) And I can believe whatever I want and can do based on what I believe in.
So here is the punchline: I am Catholic but I do not believe in what my Church teaches, maybe most of it.
It's like saying: "I am Filipino but I do not believe in the taxes the government charges me with."
Now you wonder why Catholic schools don't even require their students to study the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
You wonder where this rubbish from "you decide on your own" came from.
You wonder why Catholic schools like Ateneo are the first one to publicly dissent from Church authorities claiming their birth-right to free speech when in fact this is not an issue of freedom but of whether you are indeed CATHOLIC!
Simply put, termites are eating us up from the inside.
And what do you do with termites?
You don't dialogue with them!
Because they are not rational and they do not talk.
And going back, if you don't follow the law even civil ones, what happens?
You know to this one Fr. Bernas.

St. Luke's Medical Center is pro-RH?!?!?
I got a disturbing news that ST. LUKE'S MEDICAL CENTER will hold Pro-RH Conference?
Here is the text that I got:
"Let's listen together towards understanding the RH Bill tomorrow Friday 3-5pm @ the 2nd Fl. Conference Room St. Luke's QC. Guest Speaker Congresswoman Dra. J. Garin, one of the authors/sponsors of the bill. Tomorrow's special forum is sponsored by OBGyn Dept. everyone is invited.:)"
Would you think this will be a balanced discussion of the Bill when you get a doctor who happens to be a legislator who acts dumb or plays dumb about the health threats of using contraceptives?
