Man up???? Boy, that is a tough one for Mr. Celda.

The hypocrisy of the Communist and pro-RH Teddy Casiño
A little break from bashing the spoiled bratinella named Carlos Celda....
LOVE THAT NEW NAME!!!
Anywho...
Here is a classic example of how a so-called fighter of the rights of the common Tao can be eated up the the very system he calls "corrupt". Here is activist, Communist (yoohoo! Don't deny it) pro-RH congressman Teddy Casiño who is running for the Senate in the May 2013 elections. Look where we found his photo.
At the back of the Victory Liner Buse which plies the Northern Route of the Maharlika Highway...
Wait a minute! That bus goes through provinces controlled by the communist guerilla group New People's Army or NPA!
Do you remember buses of Victory Liner getting burned in the middle of the street or in their own terminals by hoodlums claiming to be members of the insurgent group since the bus company refuses to pay the NPA "revolutionary tax" or "protection money" or "If-you-don't-pay-us-we'll-burn-your-buses"???
And then you see this!!!
And then, you don't hear any news about Victory Liner buses not getting burned suddenly???
WOW!
That photo of Teddy Casiño is so powerful! It wards off NPA rebels! It is a protection against FIRE!!!!
New patron saint against tragedies related to fire??
Or plain and simple protection.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see the connection, eh?
Or unless you are a clone of Carlos Celda, (no not a type!) this one will be tough, like answering the question "What is the value of Pi?"
Celda: "What flavor?"
WAH!

You'll never know when and where I will show up!
St. Thomas Aquinas
His teachings ever so relevant throughout the centuries...
And ever more so in this century.
St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for us!
And on a related note, here is a beautifully written article on a classic Q&A format, about Heresy and how to relate with heretics.
And yes that include you Carlos Celdran!

Yup he is a priest.

New appointments!
MANILA, Jan. 25, 2013— Two Filipino Catholic bishops have resigned before the mandated retirement age of 75.
Pope Benedict XVI has accepted the resignations of Bishops Deogracias Iñiguez, 72, of Kalookan and Leo Drona, 71, of San Pablo.
The information was relayed to the Media Office of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) by Archbishop Guiseppe Pinto, Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines on Friday.
The two prelates’ resignation was made under Canon 401, par. 2 of the Code of Canon Law which provides that a diocesan bishop who becomes unsuited for duties due to illness or other grave reason is requested to tender his resignation from office.
Meantime, Benedict XVI has appointed current Gumaca Bishop Buenaventura Famadico, 56, as successor of Drona.
Famadico was ordained a priest in 1983 and was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Lipa in July 2002. In June 2003, the pontiff appointed him as the second bishop of Gumaca in Quezon province.
Currently, he is a member of the CBCP’s Episcopal Commission on Family and Life.
As the new bishop of San Pablo, Famadico will serve the more than two million Catholic population of the diocese.
Drona was ordained a priest on December 22, 1967 in Rome, Italy and was appointed bishop of San Jose, Nueva Ecija in July 1987 and served until 2004 until he was transferred to San Pablo.
Iñiguez, meanwhile, was the first bishop of Kalookan and had served the diocese since August 2003.
Born in Cotabato City in December 1940, Iñiguez was ordained a priest in 1963. He served as Auxiliary Bishop of Malolos from 1985 to 1989 and bishop of Iba in Zambales from 1990 to 2003.
Iñiguez is currently the chairman of the CBCP’s Permanent Committee on Public Affairs. (CBCPNews)

1. I never realized a spawn of Jezebel can pray.
I especially like the last one because:
1. I never realized a spawn of Jezebel can pray.
2. This is the last we'll ever see of Carlita being inside San Agustin Church.

St. John Paul II in October???
From the Vatican Insider
***
Rumours from Poland suggest that John Paul II might be canonized in October this year, on a date that would coincide with the beginning of his pontificate. In last few days the archbishop of Gdansk Sławoj Leszek Głódź has made a declaration to “Super Express”: “in order for the canonization to be successful it is necessary to choose a miracle. There are no issues on this matter. Probably one will be chosen and then its validity will need to be confirmed by theologians and doctors, among others. We have miracles. From a procedural point of view there are no obstacles, therefore it all rests on Benedict XVI ’s decisions”.
This same piece of news concerning a possible canonization had already been announced by the Polish Catholic press agency KAI, which had mentioned “information yet to be confirmed” coming from Rome concerning “ inexplicable recoveries” attributed to John Paul II after his beatification. According to KAI if John Paul II ’s canonization is to take place in October 2013, Benedict XVI is likely to make the announcement in March”. According to KAI, “traditionally the month for canonizations is October”.
***
Until the news comes out, we'll wait!
FYI, I still prefer this photo of John Paul. Very papal and saintly, don't you think?
I hope when they make a statue with a halo, they use this one instead.

It's about time!
Vatican is preparing a manual to help priests celebrate Mass properly!
Read about the news here.
Uhmmm... The GIRM and rubrics and Redemptionis Sacramentum are not enough? Hmmm...
***
Will it prevent Fr. "Swswswswswshhh" from bringing out his dance troupe?
Will it prevent Fr. "Powerpoint" for over emphasizing how great a presenter he is?
Will it prevent Fr. "Willie Revillame" from making the Mass a Pentecostal revival service in the name of Franciscan spirituality? If he has those. Ha!
Will it stop clapping at Mass?
Will it ban overlay stoles and chasu-albs?
Will it stop dancing at Mass?
Will it openly promote ad orientem worship?
Will it promote the return of Gregorian chant to the Ordinary Form?
Will it forever ban Communion on the Hand?
Will it say "HEY! Stop that Misa ng Sambayanang Pilipino!"
The list goes on and on and on...
Hope it does!

FYI, Michael Voris is coming back to the country!

Old News?
If it is old news, then it is history right?
But can we call something historical if the institution does not openly recognize the fact but is in FACT doing it, implicitly?
It is news all over again and again....
Like the Energizer Bunny!
Yup. Ateneo is REALLY FOR RH.
FYI. Catholic for RH is NOT A CATHOLIC GROUP as declared by the CBCP, yet Ateneo is hosting them!
All for academic freedom?
Freedom to destroy our Catholic identity?
I pity my friends in Ateneo who are loyal Catholics. Praying for my good friend, the Hobbit.

Cheapo!
Guess who this guy is?
Yup. He is a priest.
He flaunts all his trips on his Facebook account.
He has more photos of him on trips, food escapades, shopping and "all that jazz", more than photos of him actually BEING A PRIEST.
FYI, he is a Filipino, unluckily for us, and he is such a controversy magnet in his diocese.
He has his own YouTube channel where he does his own rendition of secular and religious music, which thankfully no one gives a crap about.
Narcy? Definitely.
Pass the word. The only way to stop this guy from doing this if he stays puts in his parish and STARTS BEING A PRIEST.
PS: He once studied in that once Catholic university in Katipunan Avenue famous for silently supporting the law on contraception. And yes, he owns that fishing boat trip Mass photo with his friends.
More outrageous photos coming soon!
Another radical theologian dies...
From Zenit.
***
Father Tissa Balasuriya, the controversial theologian who was excommunicated and later reconciled with the Church, died in Sri Lanka on January 17 after a long illness at the age of 88.
Father Balasuriya, an Oblate of Mary Immaculate who was known for his inter-religious activities, came into conflict with the Church officials with the publication of his book, Mary and Human Liberation in 1990. In 1994 the bishops of Sri Lanka issued a warning against the book, and that same year the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) asked Father Balasuriya to retract certain arguments that he advanced in the book. He declined.
Questioning Father Balasuriya’s statements on doctrinal issues that included Original Sin, the Immaculate Conception, and the irreplaceable role of Jesus in the work of salvation, the CDF then asked the Sri Lankan theologian to sign a statement of faith. Again he declined, and after issuing a warning the CDF formally announced his excommunication in January 1997. Father Balasuriya eventually agreed to sign a statement of faith, [more of a move to survive rather than be sorry, IMHO.] and his excommunication was lifted in January 1998.
***
Just how truthful was Fr. Balasuriya with his declaration of faith?
Well, just look here.
Here is the caption to that photo:
As far as I could remember, doing this meant an automatic excommunication for the man. Well, I guess Fr. Balasuriya doesn't believe that too.
I hope he seriously repented all of these wrongs he did before he died.
He cause too much confusion in the Church like what the late Fr. Chupungco did, but quite frankly not as troubling as Fr. Balasuriya.
As Fr. Z put it, "the biological solution is working...on ALL of us."
Tempus fugit! Memento mori!

On Wednesday November 22nd the college was privileged to have a visit from the eminent Sri Lankan theologian, Fr. Tissa Balasuriya OMI. As well as meeting and challenging the students, Fr. Tissa gave a lecture on the philosophy of "God is Love", including issues arising from the Pope's recent lecture on relationships with other faiths, notably those with the Islamic faith. In the evening he celebrated the Eucharist with Rosemary. This was a most unusual event, a Roman Catholic celebrating with a Protestant and a woman.FYI, that is a Methodist "priestess", missionaries in Sri Lanka.

DO NOT VOTE KABATAAN PARTYLIST IN MAY 2013
Raymond Palatino of Kabataan Partylist who filed a petition against praying and display of religious images/articles in government offices went to the Supreme Court yesterday to protest the Cybercrim Law because according to him, it is against freedom of expression.
How about freedom of religion, dumb-ass? One great reason why KABATAAN PARTYLIST SHOULD NOT BE VOTED IN 2013!

Scammers will just go and....SCAM
MANILA, Jan. 16, 2013— The Catholic Church’s social action arm is warning the public of a scam in the name of Caritas Philippines.
So far, one complainant has come into the Church agency from Masambong High School in Quezon City.
In the said case, a person identified as certain Cecille Villanueva claimed to be collecting cash for a supposed housing project for teachers and other charity works.
The suspect was also able to get donations from two other schools: Roxas High School and San Bartolomeo High School – both in Quezon City.
“We have no such employee as Cecille Villanueva and that she is not at all connected with Caritas Philippines,” said Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo, Caritas Philippines national director.
“Therefore, we are warning you to refuse any such solicitations she is doing in behalf of our good name, for your own safety and protection,” he said.
Pabillo reminded the public that anyone who is legitimately collecting donations for a charity will have proper identification.
‘If ever our good office makes appeals and solicitations for our programs and emergency response, it is duly signed by the National Director and / or the Executive Secretary of our organization,” he said. (CBCPNews)

Just like thoes fake priests, better ask for an ID. Take their pictures. Most cellphones now have a camera, right? Call their office / diocese if you are still doubtful.
On a related note, shall we do this to fake seminarians and run-away altar servers?
Hmmm....

Borrowing from Humpty Dumpty herself.
Word I got was that the decision for the case against him will come out on Thursday next week.

Is she issuing receipts to her patrons?
Maybe in Manila City Jail!

How to mercifully torture a narcissistic priest
You know the kind that does not say Mass unless it is...
in a very classy Mall...
or in TV....
or the stipend is only P400.00
like these fellows here:
The "Power Point" priest who spends much of his energy trying to make himself entertaining with his hodge podge of a sermon.
The "SM Megamall" priest who loves dancers at his Mass and who has the audacity to tell the whole world that he got a freebie from the owner of the Mall, by asking her "Where do you sell you washing machines here?"
The "Probably-Not-Catholic-anymore" priest who still doesn't know whether he'll stay in the clerical state or not.
The "Wish List Priest" who asked online for the latest gadgets and rubber shoes to make him happy. Oh, do you remember how he celebrated his Mass with his friends.....on a yacht?
Wait for future posts. I have other mind-boggling photos about this one. Last I heard, some of his fellow priests in his diocese in Chicago protest to his extravagant lifestyle. One priest called him a "freeloader". In Tagalog, "mahilig magpalibre kahit hindi mo ayain." Kinda like the altar server I know.
BUT ANYWHO..........
And lastly....
Never mind.
HERE ARE MY SUGGESTIONS:
1. Make them celebrate Mass, facing the altar, non-televised like this. It's not TLM. It's Novus Ordo, ad orientem
2. Make them wear the cassock all the time like this.
3. Make them live in a room like this.
Most probably, they'll never survive in an environment where no one admires them, or no one claps at them, no one laughs at their mundane jokes, and most probably after a month, they'll look like this....
Kidding!
I still hope and pray that these priests reform their lives and emulate our Lord.
And may they speak the words spoken by John the Baptist.

A bishop expresses his dismay over other bishops
From Inquirer.net
Better super late than never!

How fervent are the Catholic bishops against the reproductive health (RH) bill?
Lipa Archbishop Ramon Arguelles on Tuesday said that he appealed to 62 of his fellow bishops and archbishops through text messages for them to converge Wednesday in the House of Representatives as it votes on the controversial measure.
But only two of his brother bishops replied. [No load? hehe]
“Only two…. I want to resign,” a downcast Arguelles said after a Church forum in Intramuros, Manila. “It’s like, as someone said, ‘I deserve my enemies but I do not deserve my friends.’”
He said one of the two bishops who assured him of their presence Wednesday was Kidapawan Bishop Romulo de la Cruz, who would be flying from Mindanao. [And he did!]
The vote in the House is expected to be close and anti-RH lawmakers, led by Zambales Rep. Milagros “Mitos” Magsaysay, had asked the bishops to be present in the gallery to strengthen the resolve of wavering anti-RH congressmen. [Until the Hoodlums of the Liberal Party led by Mar Roxas, who MUST NOT BECOME PRESIDENT IN 2016, and Butch Abad, the dynastic family of Batanes, who hypocritically criticized corrupt officials before but now..., scared the wits out of congressmen who would have voted based on their consciences as the president and his men have been asking. Boy, where is Atty. Bernas to talk about freedom of conscience now, huh? Did he even raised an alarm against the bullying that the Palace did to anti-RH congressmen and for "violating" their consciences? Nah.]
“You see that what you are fighting for is true and about God (but) then you feel isolated,” Arguelles said.
“Somebody answered that ‘Jesus Christ was also isolated.’ but I’m not Jesus Christ. It’s like I’m the one who is wrong… the odd man (out),” added the fervent anti-RH prelate.
Arguelles said he had been texting his fellow members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) “for some time,” including CBCP president Jose Palma and Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle. [Where have they gone?]
“If we do not go, we are losing by default. We are failing God. If we don’t support the (anti-RH) congressmen, we will answer to God because of our omission. So, I appealed to them to let their voices be heard and their presence be felt,” he said.
‘Procession’ to Congress
The CBCP-Episcopal Commission on Family and Life is organizing a noontime Mass at St. Peter’s Church on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City, after which the bishops in attendance would join a “procession” to Congress.
Tagle will be celebrating another noontime Mass against the bill at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Makati City after an overnight vigil. [After he was "caught" by the CBCP to purposely miss the event and celebrate Mass in Malacañang! Guess the mainstream media does not want you to know that, huh?]
Archbishop Palma is reportedly in Vietnam for a meeting of the Federation of Asian Bishops Conferences (FABC). [He was! Along with Cardinal Rosales.]
Peachy Yamsuan, [ugh] the communications chief of the Archdiocese of Manila, said the cardinal was not expected to join the procession to Congress. [NOT EXPECTED MY FOOT, WOMAN!]
“He will be very busy (Wednesday) because it is also the anniversary of his ordination and installation as Archbishop of Manila but he will be celebrating Mass (against the RH bill). He will also be leaving (on Thursday) for the FABC in Vietnam,” Yamsuan said. [The "Communications Chief" did not mention that the cardinal will be spending the whole night in a concert organized by his official handler, Jesuit Communications. So he chose to be there rather than in Congress. While common people would rather spend a milestone in their lives by either going to an orphanage or feeding hungry people, the cardinal instead of going to Congress to be with his flock, decided it is more worthwhile to be singing his heart out in a concert in Makati. Sweeeettt.]
Arguelles said the stance of some bishops was to “leave it to the lay people” to lead the charge against the RH bill.
“They say leave it to the lay people but it is the lay people who are the ones asking…. They want our presence. Many are asking how many (bishops) will come…. Maybe they’ve changed their (cell phone) numbers (but) I’m sure only of one or two,” Arguelles said. [Well, archbishop, your brother bishops did LEAVE us.]
It turned out that at least seven bishops went to the House Tuesday.
***
For proof of who attended, here is a photo that was sent to me by a friend.
As the old saying goes, "the proof of the pudding is in the eating." Guess some bishops don't have the episcopal backbone to fight with their flock against this law. I guess some of our clergymen are good when they are in front of the camera or "hosting" their own Sunday program.
Good grief. What has become of our bishops?!
Makes you think of what happened in the Garden of Gethsemane, eh?
Until when will some of our bishops, especially, the DARLING OF THE MEDIA, try to seemingly feed us to the wolves, we'll find out.
As for me, EXILE is the best solution.
Read between the lines.

CBCP News Article about the death of Fr. Chupungco
MANILA, Jan. 9, 2013— The country’s prominent liturgist and newest papal awardee has died just days before he was due to receive the prestigious award.
Fr. Anscar Chupungco, a Benedictine monk, a liturgist, theologian and a father to many Filipino liturgists, was set to be conferred the Pro Ecclesia and (sic) [it should have been et] Pontifice for his service to the Church.
Aside from the papal award, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines was supposed to give Chupungco the Jorge Barlin Golden Cross Award for his remarkable contribution to the CBCP. [not the adjective I was thinking pero sige na lang.]
Both awards were set to be conferred to Chupungco at the start of the CBCP’s 106th plenary assembly on January 26 in Manila.
The priest succumbed to heart attack on Wednesday, January 9, in Malaybalay, Bukidnon at the age of 73. [He died inside his own cell in the Transfiguration Monastery. Rooms of monks are called "cells".]
The papal award, also known as the Cross of Honor, was established by Pope Leo XIII in 1888 in celebration of his golden sacerdotal jubilee.
The Golden Cross Award, meanwhile, takes its name from the first Filipino bishop. The bishops award this honor to those who exemplify the values of Barlin.
Known as a very prominent liturgist, Chupungco has influenced the Catholic Church in the Philippines with regards the liturgical reforms. [Not only here! He has influenced a lot about his own interpretation of the liturgical reforms of Vatican II and inculturation, views which the current Pope do not share with him. Proof? Who was the cardinal that caused the job of Fr. Anscar in Rome? His first name is Joseph and he is German.]
Jose Herminio Javier Chupungco was born on Nov. 10, 1939 in Cainta, Rizal. He took the name “Anscar” when he became a monk of the Abbey of Our Lady of Montserrat in 1958 at the age of 19.
He earned his licentiate in philosophy and theology, both magna cum laude, from the University of Santo Tomas. He was ordained priest in 1965.
Chupungco then pursued post-graduate studies and obtained the doctorate in Liturgical Studies at the Anselmianum in Rome. [WRONG! He obtained his doctorate in Sacred Theology (STD) with a particular specialization in Liturgy.]
He had been professor in, and president of, the Pontifical Liturgical Institute and rector magnificus of the Pontifical Athenaeum Anselmianum in Rome. [Until that cardinal lobbied that he be removed there.]
He had also served as consultor in the Sacred Congregations of the Divine Worship and the Sacraments of the Vatican, and has lectured to bishops’ conferences and clergies in the US, Africa, Asia and Europe.
In the Philippines, Chupungco founded the Paul VI Institute of Liturgy in the Philippines and the Graduate School of Liturgy in San Beda College, Manila where he served as president. [Why did the CBCP Article did not mention about Fr. Chupungco being the co-founder of Maryhell....ehrm...Maryhill School of Theology. And I wonder why he was not asked to teach at UST where he is an alumnus.]
For many years, he was the executive secretary of the CBCP’s Episcopal Commission on Liturgy and was part of the International Commission on English in the Liturgy that made the English translation of the Roman Missal. (CBCPNews) [Now wonder why he criticized the new translation of the Missal. He was part of the older translation that was fixed by virtue of Liturgiam Authenticam.]
***
And he "designed" the ghastly Misa ng Sambayanang Pilipino which "Thank God!" Pope John Paul II did not approve.
And he hates the Traditional Latin Mass...
And as Fr. Z puts it.
My thoughts exactly.
Pray for the eternal repose of his soul.

Just in case you missed it.
For posterity's sake...
The "teacher" ordaining his "student". Next to be ordained hopefully, is the guy at the back. Msgr. Marini. And yeah, the seminarian too! :)
Very nice shot!
I sure hope he becomes a cardinal soon.
Did you know that he was a former SSPX seminarian?

The double life of some priests
In continuing our post about the problem of some priests...most of them WE SEE ON TV everyday or every week! Honestly, nothing against Fr. Glenn Paul Gomez, SVD but how he celebrates the Mass is really CRASS! Good Lord, that guy must just sell DVDs at Quiapo and Greenhills! Evangelical pastors would look like Greek Orthodox eparchs with his kind attitude during the Holy Mass! Ugh!
But back on the topic...
Here we have an article, published a year ago by the National Catholic Register....not Reporter aka FISHWRAP, about the problem of Priestly Narcissism and how it is indicative of a doouble life of a priest. Not the Bruce Wayne or Peter Parker double life kind of thing.
More like John in the morning and Johanna at night?
What do you think?
Joke.

OTTAWA - Despite the many cases in recent years of unfaithful priests, an expert on sexual abuse and pornography predicts a future with a “much healthier Church and healthier priests.”
Peter Kleponis is a Pennsylvania psychologist who has counselled priests who sexually abused minors as well as men addicted to pornography, his specialty. He says the Church has gone through a painful phase and, although “it’s not over yet,” there is reason for optimism.
“There is hope. There is change,” said Kleponis. But, he adds, “there is still more purification and purging that needs to be done.”
Kleponis made his remarks while discussing the case of Bishop Raymond Lahey, who received a 15-month jail sentence after pleading guilty to importing child pornography. At his sentencing hearing, a forensic psychiatrist testified that Lahey had been involved in a “number of one-night stands” before entering a 10-year relationship with a man. Kleponis and other experts who have worked with troubled priests believe the double lives they lead might partly be explained by narcissism.
“What causes a man to maintain this kind of double life for so long is basic narcissism, the idea that I’m entitled to this, I can do whatever I want; if I want to lead a double life I’ll have a double life,” said Kleponis. [Too much attention?]
Narcissism can grow as priests climb the ladder and become bishops, regarding themselves as a Prince of the Church who is above everything, he said. [Uhm... What do you think? Not all those who rise from the ranks are like that. Some, I know one, newly ordained. Not even a decade as a priest. When he acts, he is like a Cardinal already!]
“Narcissism is very common in addicts, because even though they know what they are doing is bad, and know it is wrong, they decide, ‘I’m going to do it anyway,’ ” Kleponis said from his office at the Institute for Marital Healing, a private Catholic practice, in West Conshohocken, Penn., where he works with colleague Dr. Richard Fitzgibbons, a psychiatrist who is a consulter to the Congregation for Clergy in the Vatican.
“Our clinical experience in treating large numbers of seminarians, priests and religious for over 35 years has demonstrated a direct link between unresolved anger from childhood and later rebellion against the Church’s teachings on sexual morality and sexual acting out,” wrote Kleponis and Fitzgibbons in the August 2011 issue of the Linacre Quarterly, the journal of the Catholic Medical Association in the United States. [Sounds like what liberal seminary formators and faculty call "normal" in the book, Goodbye Good Men.]
“Some men are more susceptible to sexual temptations because they suffer from psychological conflicts of loneliness and sadness, weaknesses in male confidence, excessive anger, anxiety, selfishness and/or having a history of childhood sexual abuse,” they wrote. [And the pseudo-psychiatrist, like a priest or nun who just took up a book, and even the closeted homosexual seminary staff, would tell the seminarian that it is "OK" to act it out.]
Fitzgibbons, who wrote an open letter to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2002 at the height of that country’s sexual abuse crisis, said at the time that those treating priests who engaged in pedophilia or ephebophilia observed they “almost without exception suffered from a denial of sin in their lives.” [Isn't denying what is wrong, immoral and sinful the lines of liberals and those who hate the Church? "Accept the love. Stop the hate." that is the motto of the homosexual movement against the Church and the Pope.]
“They were also unwilling to admit and address the profound emotional pain they experienced in childhood of loneliness, often in the father relationship, peer rejection, lack of male confidence, poor body image, sadness and anger,” Fitzgibbons wrote, noting the anger was often directed at the Church, the Holy Father and religious authorities. [And most of the liberals and aging priests and angry feminist nuns have this common problem!]
Richard Sipe, who spent 18 years as a Benedictine monk and priest and has authored eight books on clerical celibacy and/or the clerical sexual abuse crisis, said cases such as Lahey’s did not surprise him.
“It’s very easy for priests as they move up in administrative levels to establish a sexual life,” Sipe said from his office in La Jolla, Calif.
Those double lives can be either homosexual or heterosexual, he stressed, noting the recent resignation of Los Angeles Auxiliary Bishop Gabino Zavala after revelations he had fathered two children.
A myth has been perpetrated that priests and bishops do not have sexual lives, Sipe said.
“There are volumes of case histories that record this kind of behaviour,” he said.
“Sometimes it lasts for a long period of time, even a lifetime of the priest or bishop, sometimes it’s a serial monogamy that a priest or a bishop will have a relationship with a woman or a man for three to five years and go to someone else.”
During the 1970s and earlier, before being “out of the closet” was socially acceptable, some men went into the priesthood so no one would ever ask them why they never married, said Kleponis. In the 1970s, there was more homosexual activity going on in seminaries than there is now, and some men who became sexually active with other men in seminary continued to remain so after ordination. Some became seminary rectors, he said. [I know someone North of Manila. Oops! hehe.....and some place else....hehehe]
As for the future, Kleponis is not finding this tendency to run away from or hide one’s sexuality is as prevalent in priests 50 and younger, he said.
“Younger seminarians are there because they feel it’s a vocation, they are not there to hide their sexuality and have no intent of leading a double-life.” This is true both of men with heterosexual orientation as well as those who struggle with same-sex attraction.
Sipe said more needs to be done to train priests on how to live out their celibate vows successfully. [Not how to experience and express the repressed tendencies like what the liberals teach the seminarians!] Though he received a dispensation to marry, he said celibacy is a wonderful gift to the Church, but secrecy and cover-up over failures needs to be replaced with a full understanding of human sexuality and ways to live a celibate lifestyle in a spiritually fruitful and successful way.
Canon lawyer Fr. Francis Morrisey, who has advised the Catholic Church in Canada on the sexual abuse crisis, when asked if Lahey’s kind of double life is common, answered: “I certainly hope not.”
“Oftentimes, provincials or superiors are the last persons to know what’s going on,” he said. “Normally, let’s say somebody’s leading a double life, he is not going to tell his boss what he’s doing.
“We’re probably dealing with a psychological issue,” Morrisey said, adding that he hoped Lahey would get the assistance he needs to “address his issues.”
Morrisey said that most Catholics were shocked by the revelations.
“I’m just hoping the Holy See will be able to address this situation rather quickly so it’s not left hanging and Bishop Lahey will be able to get on with his life.” [I seriously doubt he could get back with his old job.]
Lahey applied for laicization a year ago, his lawyer told the court, and removal from the clerical state is one of the penalties the Holy See can impose on him. [Good for him at least he has the decency to do it without him being forced to by Church officials!]
In the last sexual abuse case involving a priest where Sipe served as an expert witness, the priest received 3,000 signed testimonies in his favour, even though he had “savagely abused this youngster.”
“People will always defend the perpetrator,” he said.
Lahey was hailed for the compassionate and generous settlement he brokered for clerical sexual abuse victims in the Antigonish diocese.

Latest report about Richard Lahey is that he has been laicized or removed from the clerical state, or is now a simple layman.
I am sure you have your own stories about these men who live double lives.
So a friendly note to ALL CATHOLICS!
Stop over pampering your priests! Some take in too much it reaches their heads and forget who they are and what they are.
I even tell my friend-priests that people would not gang up on them to greet them, grab their hands, have their photos taken IF THEY ARE NOT PRIESTS. It is the character of the Sacrament of Holy Orders that sets them apart from other men. If they are not priests, would they think they will enjoy the same attention? My friends all agree that they wouldn't.
On the other hand, they must let these admiration get the better of them and think that people are after them just because they are uhm, cute, handsome and what have you though sometimes there are those old ladies who still think that years of dancing in Obando gave them the answer to their prayers courtesy of Fr. Pogi or Fr. Entertaining-Mag-homily! Darn it! Douse some ice cold water on that poor woman and tell her to accept her vocation as a single lady! Period!
But hep hep hep!!! Those anti-Catholic hypocrites like the INC stop where they are because they themselves especially their BEM ministers, (I'd like to call them BUM Ministers) have their own share of atrocities.
INC ministers who are drunkards, gamblers, womanizers, wife-beaters, crooks, and yes even sex abusers.
They are all humans, like priests, they commit mistakes.
The ones who don't are those 6 feet under.
Felix Manalo agrees.

Seriously Father. What is your image of a priest? A poster boy for a clothing company?

This photo reminds me of that excellent article about Priestly Narcissism in the Church, well, which was brought about when the priest started looking at the people rather than talking to the Lord during the Liturgy. George Weigel also wrote on the similar topic. Versus populum ring a bell to you guys?
And another great article about this problem with this kind of a priest is this article about

Another GREAT reason why PARTYLIST GABRIELA should NOT BE ELECTED in May 2013!
"Divorce is not a threat on marriage and family, in fact it respects it"
- Gabriela Partylist Congresswoman Luz Ilagan
How could a system designed to destroy marriage, will respect it! This woman is forked tongue!
This is the same group that pushed for the passage of the RH Law! This is the same anti-Church group that will push anti-life, anti-family, anti-Christian legislation in the country!
Spread the word!
DO NOT VOTE GABRIELA IN 2013!
They prey upon the poor in the slums of Metro Manila like Tondo and Payatas! That is where they get their votes!

Liturgical Abuse: Oh.....my....GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is just plain wrong!
This happened during the Christmas Mass at the Archdiocesan Shrine of San Nicolas de Tolentino in Cebu!
The priest held up the completely nude baby to illustrate the birth of Christ.
There was even a mini-concert before the start of the Mass.
Goodness! If you have priests like this doing this to babies and the Mass, who needs Herod?
Put plainly....sobrang pambabastos sa sanggol at sa Banal na Misa!
Whoever the parents of this baby are should be also charged in court! Imagine the emotional trauma this kid would have to bear when he grows up!
What does the DSWD and even the Archdiocese of Cebu have to say about this, huh?!
Attention Fr. Jan Limchua!

Speaking of Jesuits....
Here is how a Filipino Jesuit looks like when he does Eucharistic adoration.
At least they still HAVE Eucharistic Adoration....but could they be properly dressed next time?

Just in case you have not seen this.
Yes, that is how a parent wants to teach his kids about sex.
That is this administration's brand of "responsible parenthood"!
