I...The Limasawa story consists of three paragraphs. It was written by a Jesuit priest, Fr. Francisco Combes, who had NOT read a single primary account. He read a secondhand account of Magellan's voyage by Antonio de Herrera y Tordesillas that faithfully narrated the week at Mazaua, the island-port, when a Sunday Easter mass was held on March 31, 1521. Combes rejected this story. Instead, Combes adopted a version of Gianbattista Ramusio's story that contains no mention of a mass and wrote the port was Butuan. The port according to all eyewitnesses was Mazaua, not Butuan, not Limasawa.

There is no mention of a mass of whatever kind in the Limasawa story.

To get a chronological study of how the Limasawa error occurred, pls. go to this site https://picasaweb.google.com/103135314023445858830/AmbethOcampoSLimasawaHoaxOhWhatATangledWebWeWeaveWhenFirstWePractiseToDeceiveVicente Calibo de Jesushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08937570740226706472noreply@blogger.com
