GULP Alert: Acrobatics for the Mass

Or was it cheerleading stuff?

The priest seems so amused with what he saw, no?

So did the girl magically popped out of the Pascal Candle and fell into the waiting arms of the lads?

What was it all about???

Another creativity for the singing of the Gloria?

Those who say that there are no liturgical abuses committed in the Novus Ordo are either in denial, or has been hiding under a bomb shelter thinking we are still in the Cold War or just plain proud public display of IDIOCY.

  1. What kind of cathechesis or training do priests get to allow these abuses? This is a mass to exhibit human creativity and theatrics instead of directing people to things divine. Such liturgical desecrations while not that common are not unknown in our country. The worse are in the US and
Europe where they seem to be the norm in places.

  3. In 1975, the Vatican's Congregation for the Sacraments and Divine Worship issued Dance in the Liturgy, which it declared, ". . For that reason it cannot be introduced into liturgical celebrations of any kind whatever: That would be to inject into the liturgy one of the most desacralized and desacralizing elements, and so it would be equivalent to creating an atmosphere of profaneness which would easily recall to those present and to the participants in the celebration worldly places and situations. xxx Neither can acceptance be had of the proposal to introduce into the liturgy the so-called artistic ballet because there would be presentation here also of a spectacle at which [only] one would assist, while in the liturgy one of the norms from which one cannot prescind is that of participation [by all].
