  1. The deacon should carry the Book of Gospels, not the lector. The priest should also be wearing a more correct form of the chasuble, such as Conical, Gothic or Roman, not a chasuble-alb with a broad stole. Anyway, the thing that I found positive in the picture is the woman in the background wearing a mantilla.

  7. Correct me if im wrong, i was under the impression that in the absence of a deacon, the lector may carry the book of gospel to the altar (in OF).

  8. The color of the stole. Isn't it advent and thus violet?

  9. IN CASE YOU DON'T KNOW:
GIRM 194. In coming to the altar, when no deacon is present, the lector, wearing approved attire, may carry the Book of the Gospels, which is to be slightly elevated. In that case, the lector walks in front of the priest but otherwise along with the other ministers.

  10. I know this is off topic but at least it is good news. I heard last Sunday that they were going to implement these in the Cathedral:

    1.) Angelus at 6 am, 12 nn, and 6pm
2.) A moment of silence before the Mass, and after the homily

I hope these are signs of things to come. Please pray for the end of liturgical abuse in our diocese.
