Epic Fail in the Tagalog Book of the Gospels

Edited and published by the Episcopal Commission on the Liturgy headed by our best friend, Fr. Genaro Diwa, protege of the champion of inculturation aka liturgical abuse the late Dom Anscar Chupungco.

The reading is for St. Vincent de Paul.

The icon below is for St. Vincent of Saragossa, deacon and martyr.

With all that bragging about his degree in Liturgy, he can't even make a simple distinction about which saint is which on that day.

Epic fail.

God help us with him at the CBCP Liturgy Commission.

If he commits simple mistakes like this, imagine what DELIBERATE mistakes he'll make.

Hmmm...let's say the one about the liturgial influence of Pope Benedict XVI...and the unapproved and INVENTED Misa ng Bayang Pilipino aka Misa ng Sambayanang Pilipino.

From liturgical abusers like Fr. Genaro Diwa....Lord deliver us!!!

  1. One other point: I am so curious WHY this lectionary implemented the Magandang Balita translation which is not so exact versus the Greek original. Why did it not use the Tagalog translation of of Mons. Jose Abriol? This latter translation was what the original Tagalog Lectionary used in the 70s, NOT the Magandang Balita translation.
