Breaking: Statement of Archbishop Luis Tagle

His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI appointed me, a humble servant to succeed His Eminence Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales to the Metropolitan See of Manila. I face this heavy responsibility with much trepidation. Leaving the Diocese of Imus, my beloved our home, at the threshold of its Golden Jubilee is not easy. But faith in our gracious Lord and love of the Church give me strength. I know that I would find much good will and zeal for mission in the clergy, religious and lay faithful of the Archdiocese of Manila. In our openness to the Holy Spirit, we could render a joyful and robust witness to Jesus Christ, all for the glory of the Father and the good of the Church and of society, especially of the poor. I entrust the Archdiocese of Manila and my ministry to the loving care of Our Lady, Mary Immaculate.

  1. Sorry Your Excellency, but till now I don't see how much respect have you pay to Our Lady of Immaculate Conception.

  2. Same here Father Gary!

Same old same old political tea party speech.

  3. Could there be a possibility that he could adopt the reform of Pope Benedict XVI just like in the Archdiocese of Cebu?

  4. Your all pretenders! This site is untrustworthy, akala ko ba si ABp Lagdameo na ang bagong Manila Archbishop. And why is it that you were contesting on Abp Tagle's appointment. Do you have split interest to take over? My God, what kind of catholic are you? Respect! That's the key. You are not in the position to choose who is more qualified, you are not the Pope who entails the liberty of doing it so. I'l pray your minds will be open for acceptance! God Bless this Politically-motivated catholic site.

  5. Lee, my dear Lee...

Who says that it is sure that Abp. Lagdameo got it. A senior archbishop gave me the news but as it turns out, maybe you don't know it yet, ROME has the final say. Not me, not the archbishop who is the source of my news, but ROME.

Who says who is more qualified? You?

Good grief. Take a hold of your self mate!

    :D

  6. @Keb, we could only pray. But as of today, I have been hearing a lot of whispers within "the walls" about the appointment. If Lee gets that. :)

  7. This is you post Last Feb 16, if you could remember. You have posted such premature information. Perhaps those whispers you heard came from your ambitious stand. I have nothing against any bishops/archbishops, and I will not be arguing whoever the POPE choose to become the Apostolic Administrator of the Manila See. Instead of having bitter argument, why don't you stop engaging in speculative. Akala ko pa naman napaka-reliable ng source mo. Wala, wala itong kwenta... Ano bang kinikibot ng butsi mo?

    - Why Bishop Tagle is not wearing the full episcopal regalla? (We are modern now, time is changing, the approach might be different but the teaching was the same). In most lectures I have attended as this bishop was the facilitator, wala man lang ako narinig na masamang turo or sinasabi niya.

How ambitious oh Dear! However, this is it. Even if you have a lot of argument to tell, it is FINAL and executory. Archbishop-Elect Luis Antonio Tagle will facilitate over the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Manila. And we found this a reason to celebrate and for you to grieve otherwise...

    BREAKING!!! NEW ARCHBISHOP OF MANILA
I have received reliable news that the next archbishop of Manila will be none other than...

His Grace, Most Rev. Angel N. Lagdameo, D.D.
    Archbishop of Jaro, Iloilo

He follows in the footsteps of his predecessor, the late Jaime Cardinal Sin, who himself was a former Archbishop of Jaro prior to his appointment to the See of Manila.

Now, all it needs is the confirmation of the Holy Father.

  8. there happy Lee?

Obviously, you are a DIE HARD fan. As in DIE.

Obviously, you haven't been to any of his classes because you were not his STUDENT.

    Get that Lee?

And read and understand before you rant.

"We are modern now, time is changing, the approach might be different but the teaching was the same."

    HAHAHA Codswallop!

I submit to the Pope and to whatever he decides.

It is his prerogative whoever becomes Archbishop of Manila.

If ever you are involved in the Traditonal Movement and the Pro-Life cause, you would think twice before you DIE HARD.

    And as a FINAL postscript:

Why don't you start your own blog so you can view your own comments and you do not have to wait for the owner of the blog to post your comments?

  9. modern times... haha.. so in the future if a man would wear just undies so bishops can also do the same? ayan ang modernism nyo kaya ang mga madre paikli ng paikli ang mga damit. d na ako magtataka kung sa ganyang pag iisip na ang mga madre nakabikini na pag maliligo..

Bishops are the successor of the apostles. They belong in the hierarchy and that is a facT!
