TPC Survey: Which do you prefer?

Priests individually saying Mass

 Priests concelebrating

I will give my opinion about this tomorrow.

In the meantime, let me hear from you.

  1. Concelebration is a practice of the Eastern Church and shows the unity of the priesthood in Christ. The Eastern Church has valid sacraments. So if the Western Church adopted the practice, this is nothing but another case of a rite mutually enriching another rite, by RECOVERING AN ANCIENT PRACTICE THAT DIED OUT IN THE WEST.

  2. Doc Ben,

There are a lot of things that are not common with the Eastern Church.

And there is a LOT of reasons why Catholics have been praying that way for thousands of years...until Vatican 2 came.

There is a reason why Catholics developed the liturgy over the years. So the archaeologism, or retrieving the "original" is faulty in the sense that the Church has meditated these over hundreds of years. And that is the reason why the Mass was codified in Trent.
