EF Mass to commemorate the 3rd Anniv of Summorum Pontificum

Mark Bunag informed me that an EF Mass will be celebrated to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the issuance of Summorum Pontificum.  Details of the Mass are as follows:

Traditional Latin Low Mass for the 3rd Anniversary of Summorum Pontificum in the Diocese of Pasig - Immaculate Conception Cathedral [The second cathedral in Metro Manila to allow the EF Mass to be celebrated.  The first one was the Immaculate Conception Cathedral of the Diocese of Cubao.  I am not sure if the Diocese of Parañaque or of Caloocan had an EF Mass.]

The Mass Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Mark Sese, [God bless this priest! He is a newly ordained priest, last May 2010. ] parochial vicar and vice chancellor of the Diocese of Pasig, on July 7, 2010 at 4:00 pm at the Baptistery of the Cathedral also known as The Baptism of Our Lord Chapel -

Everyone is cordially invited!

It has been three years since our dear Holy Father, Benedict XVI gave us Summorum Pontificum and liberalized the Traditional Latin Mass, now known as the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite.

It has also been a year since the Cardinal-Archbishop of Manila, Gaudencio Rosales, brazenly defied the order of the Holy Father in Summorum Pontificum by limiting the celebration of the Traditional Mass saying "The regulation of the celebration of this extraordinary form of the Mass belongs to the Archbishop of Manila, through the Minister of the Ministry for Liturgical Affairs of the Archdiocese of Manila" even if the Holy Father says that priests DO NOT NEED the permission of his superiors or his bishop before he can celebrate the Traditional Mass."

He also said that "This form of Mass is to be celebrated only at the Christ the King Chapel of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Manila once a month, but not on Sundays and Solemnities" and "that the presider at this form of celebration should be a priest duly appointed by the Archbishop of Manila."

You can read how the great Fr. Z, dissected these direct insult to the Holy Father called Archdiocesan Guidelines on the Celebration of the Mass accoring to the Rite of the Roman Missal according to the Rite of the Roman Missal published in 1962 (Tridentine Mass), by clicking here.

And how the Ecclesia Dei Commission reprimanded the cardinal on this directive, calling it not acceptable.

Maybe the cardinal needs to remember his oath to the Holy Father when he was created a cardinal:

I [name and surname], Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church, promise and swear to be faithful henceforth and forever, while I live, to Christ and his Gospel, being constantly obedient to the Holy Roman Apostolic Church, to Blessed Peter in the person of the Supreme Pontiff Benedict XVI, and of his canonically elected Successors; to maintain communion with the Catholic Church always, in word and deed; not to reveal to any one what is confided to me in secret, nor to divulge what may bring harm or dishonor to Holy Church; to carry out with great diligence and faithfulness those tasks to which I am called by my service to the Church, in accord with the norms of the law.
So help me Almighty God.

Ahhh...memories...sweet memories...

Yes...I was trying to be sarcastic.
